This book offers the most complete and up-to-date overview of the philosophical work of Evandro Agazzi, presently the most important Italian philosopher of science and one of the most influential in the world. Scholars from seven countries explore his contributions in areas ranging from philosophy of physics and general philosophy of science to bioethics, philosophy of mathematics and logic, epistemology of the social sciences and history of science, philosophy of language and artificial intelligence, education and anthropology, metaphysics and philosophy of religion. Il mio trattato, tende a evidenziare il tema ricorrente impresso nelle menti di molti uomini e donne, cioè come sarà il futuro, che cosa ci riserverà? Come ho scritto nella premessa, il poeta latino Orazio sostiene che l’uomo non può conoscere il futuro, né può determinarlo. Nel contesto del libro ho citato gli autori classici Greci e Latini, al fine di comprendere perché è così difficile predire il futuro, e i profeti non sempre sono stati degli indovini. La panoramica generale che ho sviluppato parte dai presocratici, fino ad arrivare alla filosofia moderna/contemporanea del XIX e XX secolo, con l’intento di capire cosa pensavano alcuni filosofi importanti circa la pianificazione del futuro, cioè il futuro per le nuove generazioni. Il confronto paradigmatico fra le diverse epoche storiche, mira a ricercare un denominatore comune, con il quale poter attendere il futuro senza spasimi, astraendo dall’ansia che comprime le menti delle nuove generazioni. Spero di aver dato alcune indicazioni, dalle quali ognuno potrà trarre delle conclusioni, sia pur limitate dall’oggetto della presente ricerca. My treatise, tends to highlight the recurring theme in the minds of many men and women, that is, as will be the future, what can we expect? As I wrote in the foreword of the Latin poet Horace maintains that man can not know the future nor can it determine it. In the context of the book I quoted the Greek and latin classical authors, in order to understand why it is so difficult to predict the future, and the prophets have not always been of the diviners. The overview that I have developed parthy by presocratic, up to the philosophy modern/ contemporary nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with the intent to understand what some philosophers thought important about the planning the future, that the future for the new generations. The paradigmatic comparison between the different historical periods, is to seek the common denominator with which can wait for the future without pongs, abstracting from the anxiety that compresses the minds of the younger generation. I hope I have given some indication from which each of us can draw conclusions, albeit limited by the object of this research.
