Cu ani în urmă, Dragoș Grusea îmi mărturisea că filosofia i-a distrus viaţa: l-a rupt de vraja cuvenită vărstei şi l-a împins în copca dureroasă a gândirii lucide. Culmea e că mi-o spunea cu aerul unui ins uşurat, al cărui suflet scăpase de o povară ingrată, a cărei apăsare ameninţa să-i înăbuşe elanul. Atunci am înţeles că distrugerea de care vorbea fusese de fapt o mare eliberare. Departe de a-l strivi, disciplina conceptelor îl scăpase de pericolul de a-şi irosi viaţa în agitaţii oarbe. Scutit de amețeala unei tinereţi sortite a se rata în numele senzaţiilor tari, tânărul păşea în empireul abstracţiilor înalte, în al căror perimetru avea să-şi cizeleze în chip strălucit gândirea. Astăzi, pe deplin format, Dragoş Grusea e un fin cunoscător al idealismului german, la erudiţia căpătată adăugându-se înlesnirile de limbă, deoarece scrie limpede despre distincţii fioros de subtile. În plus, are nas de copoi: simte autorii la care ideologia a sugrumat filosofia, cum la fel simte făcătura diletantă cu aparenţe speculative. Volumul de față, avându-i drept țință pe Goethe, Kant și Nietzsche, cărora Dragoș le scoate mațele la propriu, până într-atât de adâncă e analiza pe care le-o face, dovedește o putere a minții care îl scoate din rândul exegeților și îl așază în cinul gânditorilor. După cele trei judecăți temporale din finalul cărții (de permutare, stră-mutare și transmutare a timpului), nu-mi rămâne decât să aștept noua tablă de categorii a eonului în care omenirea e pe cale să intre. Dacă nu o va da Dragoș Grusea, nu o va da nimeni la noi. (Sorin Lavric)

The volume addresses a distinct field in the anthropology of culture, namely that of creativity. It defines the cultural field of poiesis, which includes not only the poetic creation, but also the scientific and philosophical one, and, above all, insists on the connection of creativity with the metaphysical spirituality, the mythological imaginary, and the sacred realm. Creation is primarily personal—this phenomenon is obvious both in the field of art and of theory. This book considers that it is necessary to emphasize, from the perspective of cultural anthropology, the importance and significance of the creative act that binds all fields of culture. To this end, it gives new meanings to the relationship between the symbolic and abstract in the field of cultural creation, a relationship considered from the perspective of three concepts—beauty, harmony and dynamic asymmetry—as well as the relationship between creative intuition and constructive reason. The book adopts a historical-comparative approach, from the perspective of the dialectic of the creative act, the becoming and synthesis of some opposite elements, coordinated by the abstract-creative principle: dynamis and symetros, rational and symbolic, immanent and transcendent. It shows that the meaning of experience as a creative synthesis is primordial and fundamental to human existence. The book is addressed both to specialists in the field of philosophy of art or cultural anthropology, and to the general reader who wants to approach the original meaning of spiritual creation, poiesis, which is the unification of all possible experiences, both feelings and knowledge.

This book is focused on the question: does the event from which we extract historical experience acquire this status at the moment it occurs, or later as it is remembered through the generations? Historical experience is not a concept that facilitates the ascent of the historian to the fact – it is closely related to the fact. This does not make it easier to handle, because the fact itself is retractable; it hides its social (cultural) essence and meaning in time. The present of the historian (narrator) restores, as in an incessant change of perspective, the diachrony of the fact, looking for the present of the past fact. The experience suddenly becomes a relationship between two temporal actualities that seek their own cultural identity. From this perspective, history moves with us. The weight of the conceptualization of a past reality is given by the comprehensive weight (impossibility) of the fact (experience). The work is about the philosophy of history. It is addressed to students, historians, and researchers in the field of the theory of history.
