Properties of the correlation properties of the linear sequences are discussed and a new and promising approach to the problem of correlation of linear sequences is developed. Families of linear sequences of equal period are generated from a single shift register. The class of sequences with bounded cross correlation is determined as well as the bounds on the cross correlation function of certain maximal sequences and hence on the corresponding family of sequences. The appendix presents a discussion of elementary properties of binary sequences, elementary algebraic properties of sequences, and error correcting codes. (Author).

The explanation of the formal duality of Kerdock and Preparata codes is one of the outstanding results in the field of applied algebra in the last few years. This result is related to the discovery of large sets of quad riphase sequences over Z4 whose correlation properties are better than those of the best binary sequences. Moreover, the correlation properties of sequences are closely related to difference properties of certain sets in (cyclic) groups. It is the purpose of this book to illustrate the connection between these three topics. Most articles grew out of lectures given at the NATO Ad vanced Study Institute on "Difference sets, sequences and their correlation properties". This workshop took place in Bad Windsheim (Germany) in August 1998. The editors thank the NATO Scientific Affairs Division for the generous support of this workshop. In radar systems the very low sidelobes that can be achieved with amplitude and phase modulated pulse trains especially particularly in systems requiring a large dynamic range. Moreover, the excellent self-clutter rejection performance is obtained without sacrificing the ability for the separation of close targets (no main lobe widening). The additional expense of encoding and decoding in amplitude and phase may be justified for radars that must cope with land clutter or operating in a dense-target environment. To choose a suitable transmit waveform is an important problem in radar design. This is so because, the waveform controls resolution, clutter performance and also bears heavily on the system cost. Theoretical studies which provide the basis for technical advances have not so far solved the general signal design problem. The knowledge about the properties of the pulse trains shows that, a class of signals particularly well suited to digital processing of increasing practical importance. Two properties of such sequences are of interest. One is the energy ratio (ER) defined as the ratio of the total energy of the sequence to the energy of the largest pulse. The other property is the total side lobe energy (SLE) which is the energy in the side lobes of the autocorrelation function of the sequency. The work presented in this research is mainly concerned with the synthesis of multilevel and binary waveform of any desired length that has high energy ratio and low side lobe in their autocorrelation function (ACF). For the design of multilevel sequences in iterative technique is proposed, this techniques employed the properties of optimum inverse filtering and shown to be effective for the generation of multilevel sequences in any desired lengths. The method of clipping proposed in this research converts a multilevel sequence to binary sequence in same lengths while it is still retaining at low side lobe in autocorrelation function. It is shown that the iterative method based on inverse filtering and the method of clipping provide effective techniques for the generation of multilevel sequences that have high energy ratio and low side lobe energy in their autocorrelation function. Such sequences can then be effectively used to improve the range and Doppler resolution of radarsIn recent years the area of quadrotor UAV has drawn prominent attention of the researchers enabling to develop immense research area in the field of UAVs. A quadrotor has a simple architectural design due to which designing gets simple. Having advantage of uniqueness in shape and simple design it carries numerous kinds of issues regarding its controlling. A quadrotor system is nonlinear in nature, so it requires a suitable controller to ensure its stability during flight. However, researchers have been able to provide some solutions to the issues regarding angular stability, altitude and position control of quadrotor under the challenging conditions such as wind burst and noisy measurements but still they are not successfully resolved. In this thesis report modern control design techniques are discussed and their application in quadrotor control issues are presented. The control techniques are implemented on a longitudinal motion control of quadrotor i.e. issues related while maneuvering on horizontal plane. After imposing few renowned control techniques on the system it was observed that system requires to build a robust control technique for the quadrotor system. An innovative and more robust control technique is proposed for the position controlling quadrotor system. The controller is designed by fusing two distinct control techniques PID and LQR, which is named as PID-LQR. While flying quadrotor can experience two major issues; noises and external disturbance applied on the system. The nature of noises is the noise generated from GPS sensor and the system itself. The nature of disturbance is the disturbance applied externally on the system. The control technique works in such a way that PID is used for tackling a disturbance such as an external push or wind gust and LQR for rejecting noises of the sensor measurements. Furthermore the effectiveness of proposed control technique is also verified by comparing it with auto-tuned PID and optimized LQR techniques under disturbed and noisy conditions. The simulated results indicate that the proposed method yields a better response as compared to the conventional methods.

Binary sequences find increasing use in electrical engineering applications of ranging, time measurement and communications. A property of interest in these applications is the autocorrelation function of the binary sequence or pair of sequences. Of the 2 to the nth power possible sequences of length n, only a few have usable autocorrelation function, except for very particular cases. In this report, known properties of complementary sequences are reviewed. Almost complementary sequences are defined and the procedure to obtain them is outlined. A formula is derived for the number of different autocorrelation functions of the 2 to the nth power possible sequences of length n bits. A computer search is implemented with the objective of discovering sequences with desirable autocorrelation functions. (Author).
