Hänen tunnetuin romaaninsa "Kappale kahden matkaa" julkaistiin vuonna 1908. Salmelan romaanit käsittelevät niin naiseutta kuin myös ajanmukaisten ihanteiden mukaan elämistä.

This study examines masculinity and individualism in four American novels of the 1920s and 1930s usually regarded as belonging to the genre of hard-boiled fiction. The novels under study are Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett, The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain, They Shoot Horses, Don't They? by Horace McCoy, and To Have and Have Not by Ernest Hemingway. In this first full-length study of gender in hard-boiled fiction the genre is discussed as a representation of the ideologies of masculinity and individualism. Hard-boiled fiction is located in its historical and cultural context and it is argued that the genre, with its explicit emphasis on masculinity and masculine virtues, attempts to reaffirm a masculine order. The study argues that this emphasis is a counter-reaction to more general changes in the gender relations of the period. Indeed, hard-boiled fiction is argued to be an attempt to reconstruct a masculine identity based on anti-modern values generally accepted in the cultural context of the genre.

Katkelma runosta "Elämän koreus" Eino Leinon runokokoelma "Elämän koreus" julkaistiin maaliskuussa 1915 Leinon 25-vuotisen kirjailijauran kunniaksi. Runokokoelma määrättiin kuitenkin jo toukokuussa takavarikoitavaksi – painoylihallitus katsoi Leinon kehottavan lukijoita kansalaistottelemattomuuteen runoissaan "Vapaus" ja "Kaiken kansan laulu". Kirjat olivat takavarikoituina aina huhtikuuhun 1917 saakka. "Kootut teokset III" sisältää myös runokokoelmat "Painuva päivä", "Leirivalkeat", "Ajatar", "Shemeikan murhe" ja "Syreenien kukkiessa". Eino Leino (1878–1926) oli suomalainen kirjailija, runoilija ja lehtimies. Hän oli yksi merkittävimpiä suomalaisia 1800- ja 1900-luvun vaihteen kirjailijoita. Hänen runoillaan on edelleen vankka suosio. Vuosien saatossa moni säveltäjä on inspiroitunut Leinon runoista: runoja on säveltänyt musiikiksi niin Erkki Melartin, Jean Sibelius kuin Kaj Chydenius. rnrnLeinolle on pystytetty patsas Esplanadin puistoon Helsinkiin.

Climate Crisis, Psychoanalysis, and Radical Ethics draws on the latest scientific evidence to set out the likely effects of climate change on politics, economics and society more generally, including impacts on psychoanalysts. Despite a tendency to avoid the warnings, times of crisis summon clinicians to emerge from comfortable consulting rooms. Daily engaged with human suffering, they now face the inextricably bound together crises of global warming and massive social injustices. After considering historical and emotional causes of climate unconsciousness and of compulsive consumerism, this book argues that only a radical ethics of responsibility to be "my other’s keeper" will truly wake us up to climate change and bring psychoanalysts to actively take on responsibilities, such as demanding change from governments, living more simply, flying less, and caring for the earth and its inhabitants everywhere.
