Tatania By: M. Robert North Her heritage, the Ukraine. She rides and fights like a man, she is beautiful, dangerous and sometimes wanton. Tatania is an unforgettable story of love, lust, whirling battles, action, magic, forged by generations of survival in the chaos of the Middle Ages. Tatania, the daughter of Emil and Jodi. Beautiful, strong, trained for war, Tatania is an exact physical image of Jodi. Her lifestyle when growing to a young woman was also the same, much to the chagrin of her cousin, Yuri, who brought her to the Carpathian Mountains to save her from the Tartars and Vladimir’s Cossacks. Appearing to be a wild, lusty teenager, chasing from one village to another, she devotes her life to raising armies to fight Vladimir and the Tartars, and to avenge her mother’s death. She rides and fights like a man, she is beautiful, dangerous, and sometimes wanton. The story of Tatania is like her mother’s: an unforgettable story of love, swirling battles, lust, magic, and action, forged by generations of survival in the chaos of the Middle Ages. Etienne remains as her guardian. The rest of the amazing, thrilling, battle-filled, sometimes loving, other times brutal story follows. How much is real and how much is fiction? Only the restless winds know.

Confessions Of Madame Psyche written by Dorothy Bryant and has been published by Feminist Press at CUNY this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-06-01 with Fiction categories.

“Describes a life that explores, in ways that only fine fiction can, the differences between myth and illusion, between real psychic gifts and false ones.”—The Denver Post This American Book Award Winner follows the story of the young Mei-li Murrow who is dubbed “Madame Psyche” after she accidentally predicts the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Although she wins fame and fortune, Mei-li seeks a truer spirituality, and embarks on a pilgrimage that takes her to the death-soaked Europe of the First World War, to a utopian commune in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the 1920s, to the Depression-era migrant work camps and cannery strikes, and finally to the Napa State Hospital, where she finds wisdom and peace among the outcasts of the asylum. Mei-li’s modern-day epic is grounded in the history of Northern California in the first half of the twentieth century and peopled by comrades of many classes and cultures and by lovers both male and female. Yet her central odyssey remains one of inner discovery. In Confessions of Madame Psyche, Dorothy Bryant has created a character who is so honest in her search for truth, growth, and spiritual understanding that this quest becomes inherent to her survival. “Breathtaking and heartbreaking . . . It is in the specifics of time and place that Bryant roots the book’s magic. It is in her characterizations that the magic convinces . . . A beautiful story has, very simply, told itself.”—The Denver Post “Fascinating and beautiful.”—Ursula K. LeGuin “Intricate, appealing [and] profound.”—Women’s Review of Books

The theft of strategic and nuclear weapons from a GRU arsenal in the Ukraine gets prompt and full attention at the highest levels of the U.S. and Russian governments. But their respective intelligence communities are having considerable difficulty identifying the perpetrators, much less accurately assessing their motivation and intent. Nations known to be seeking nuclear weapons capability top the list of suspects, together with likely sub-national groups of terrorists and fanatics, and perhaps even the GRU itself. A Russian Admiral, hero of the former Soviet Union, and his KGB friend and colleague turn up unexpectedly in the Caribbean. A Vieques island innkeeper called "The Frenchman," a stunningly beautiful Puerto Rican doctor, a Chinese majordomo, a captivating San Juan socialite, a British artist, and an outspoken priest all appear to be enmeshed in the resulting web of subterfuge. Who has the weapons? And why? Who will be targeted? And when? The nuclear theft is the first move in what becomes an international chess game of intrigue, espionage and deception against the most unlikely opposition.

Now Is The Time We Must Be Strong written by George Van Vleet and has been published by Dog Ear Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Shanghai (China) categories.

This story is based on the true experiences of Doris Roth Van Vleet during the war years between 1937 and 1947 in the Japanese occupied City of Shanghai, China. She is the narrator of this amazing story. The war between China and Japan had started and the Japanese soon occupied the territory surrounding the city of Shanghai. The United States Government moved all American citizens to the Philippine Islands until the conflict was resolved. Although the International Settlement was isolated, the Japanese made no attempt to occupy that section of the city so the family returned to their apartment. Life went on in a fairly normal manner but the war in Europe had started and the British military was leaving Shanghai to join their respective battle units, primarily in Hong Kong. Life in the city was becoming more difficult, but the United States maintained neutrality until the Fourth Marines departed on Nov.28th. On the morning of December 8, 1941 there were Japanese tanks on the streets of Shanghai. The Japanese ruled the city in a sort of benign way until the American air raid on Tokyo which triggered the Japanese military to move all Americans over the age of twelve to prison camps. Her father, older brother and sister were interned and Doris, her mother and brother were now alone. They soon realized how difficult it would be just to stay alive, but due to the tenacity and courage of Zina they managed to survive. If the war had lasted into the winter of 1945, they, and most of the people in Shanghai, would have starved to death. It was the dream of all to gain passage, a visa for Zina and move to America as quickly as possible. It took the remainder of 1945 and 1946 to meet that goal. For the first sixteen years of his life George lived in a logging camp, owned by his father, located in Northwest Oregon several miles from the town of Astoria. He graduated from Jewell Grade School with six other kids in his eighth grade class. He entered Grant High School, the largest in the state of Oregon at that time, with five hundred freshmen; it was a social shock to say the least. He still worked every summer as a logger until his enlistment in the U.S. Marines. His entire professional occupation, after military service and college, was in the timber business. His writing career began as a result of a torn Achilles tendon putting him down when he was encouraged to write short stories by his wife and a good friend. After a move to Eugene he decided to enter the creative writing school at the University of Oregon. Starting in a freshman class, at seventy nine years of age, was a real adventure. With help, support and much patience from all his family and friends he finished this book. He hopes you enjoy reading this story as much as he did writing it.
