Si tratta della necessità di "accompagnare" i progettisti nella valutazione e gestione dei rischi per la salute, specie quelli connessi con l'inquinamento dell'aria indoor (IAQ); indicando protocolli efficaci nella prevenzione, nel controllo e nella correzione. Si propone, in chiave non manualistica ma problematica, una rilettura del Regolamento Edilizio Comunale; concettualmente diverso, operativamente alternativo a quelli in corso. Riconducendo questo strumento regolamentare all'utilità e ai significati originari, l'ottica è di fargli riassumere un ruolo di controllo e di indirizzo dell'attività edilizia, che esplichi i suoi effetti al momento di esaminare le richieste d'intervento e nelle verifiche sulla qualità delle costruzioni. Un obiettivo, che può essere raggiunto solo attraverso azioni collaborative e secondo linee metodologiche ed operative comuni e condivise, tra strutture che operano sul territorio, con diverse competenze tecnico-edilizie e igienico-sanitarie.
