Salah satu kendala dalam peningkatan produktivitas ternak adalah ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas rendah. Produktivitas ternak sangat ditentukan oleh ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas tinggi, murah, dan tersedia sepanjang tahun. Namun, kenyataan yang ditemui di lapang justru sebaliknya, yaitu penyediaan pakan di tingkat peternak berkualitas rendah. Hal ini berkaitan erat dengan ketersediaan sumber hijauan, khususnya selama musim kemarau. Pengolahan pakan segar menjadi biskuit pakan merupakan salah satu cara untuk menyiasati hal tersebut. Biskuit pakan ditujukan untuk ternak penggemukkan seperti domba dan kambing. Sementara itu, biskuit suplemen ditujukan untuk ternak yang membutuhkan nutrisi lebih, seperti sapi pedet dan kambing perah. Dengan pemberian biskuit pakan tersebut diharapkan produksi ternak, baik daging maupun susu, dapat meningkat. Kelinci termasuk hewan yang banyak dipelihara oleh masyarakat sebagai ternak maupun hewan kesayangan. Kualitas daging dan kemampuan reproduksinya termasuk unggul dibanding beberapa jenis ternak yang lain. Satu ekor induk kelinci dalam satu tahun mampu menghasikan 30-70 kg karkas daging dengan esimasi induk kelinci dapat dikawinkan 6 kali dengan jumlah anak berkisar 6-12 ekor sekelahiran, saat siap potong karkas tiap ekor nantinya rata-rata 1,2 kg. Sehingga kelinci sebenarnya memiliki potensi sebagai ternak penghasil daging alternatif untuk swasembada daging nasional. Potensi produksi kelinci ini ternyata juga memiliki permasalahan dari segi kematian anakan yang cukup tinggi di kalangan peternak dan penghobi kelinci. Buku ini memberikan solusi dari banyaknya kematian anak kelinci masa prasapih, di antaranya dengan meningkatkan jumlah produksi susu induk. Selain itu, buku ini akan menjelaskan komposisi dan tahap pembuatan sediaan biskuit pakan kelinci dengan suplementasi daun kelor, karena daun kelor ternyata memiliki kandungan bahan aktif fitosterol yang tinggi. Biskuit ini diberi nama Biskuit Moringa.
