Pieces of God's Story is a unique and creative work that delivers samples of the Bible in poetic style with glorious interpretation. It is designed to lead you to the Bible, to understanding and to the solution-Christ. Each poem-one for each of the sixty-six books of the Bible-summarizes God's Word in rhyme. The end of each poem presents a challenge to open the heart, stir an inner desire for God, and encourage believers to live in God's Word. Through this book and the Bible, may you realize and even be willing to say out loud, 'It's not about me!' Next, ask the ultimate question: Why am I here? Analysis And Interpretation In The Exact Sciences written by Melanie Frappier and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-26 with Science categories.

The essays in this volume concern the points of intersection between analytic philosophy and the philosophy of the exact sciences. More precisely, it concern connections between knowledge in mathematics and the exact sciences, on the one hand, and the conceptual foundations of knowledge in general. Its guiding idea is that, in contemporary philosophy of science, there are profound problems of theoretical interpretation-- problems that transcend both the methodological concerns of general philosophy of science, and the technical concerns of philosophers of particular sciences. A fruitful approach to these problems combines the study of scientific detail with the kind of conceptual analysis that is characteristic of the modern analytic tradition. Such an approach is shared by these contributors: some primarily known as analytic philosophers, some as philosophers of science, but all deeply aware that the problems of analysis and interpretation link these fields together.

The Philosophy of Time Society grew out of a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar on the Philosophy of Time offered by George Schlesinger in 1991. The members of that seminar wanted to promote interest in the philosophy of time and Jon N. Turgerson offered to become the first Director of the society with the initial costs underwritten by the Drake University Center for the Humanities. Thus, the Philosophy of Time Society (PTS) was formed in 1993. Its goal is to promote the study of the philosophy of time from a broad analytic perspective, and to provide a forum as an affiliated group with the American Philosophical Association, to discuss the issues in and related to the philosophy of time. The society held its first meeting during the Eastern Division of the AP A in Atlanta, George, in December 1993. In 1997 I began my tenure as Executive Director of PTS and with my term ending in 2000, I decided to put together a volume of selected papers read at PTS meetings over the years. The result is the present volume. It contains some of the latest developments in the field, including discussions of recent books by Michael Tooley, Time, Tense, and Causation, and D. H. Mellor, Real Time II, and much more. The main issue in the philosophy of time is and remains the status of temporal becoming and the passage of time.

Why God written by William J. Pardue and has been published by WestBow Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-05 with Religion categories.

WHY GOD is an exploration of the "concept of God" and its relation to reality. It searches for evidence as to the existence or non-existence of "God" in a variety of disciplines. The principles inherent in consciousness, time, motion, space, and quantum physics produce interesting clues in the search for God. A critical look at rational thought as practiced by mankind provides evidence of our limited ability to objectively define the parameters of not only God but also the "real world" within which we exist. The book reaches out to those either deeply religious or only mildly curious as to what God really means now and the possibility that there may be a measure of truth to this enduring sense of a cosmic deity. It is a curious man's guide to exploring an old concept in a new way. If God exists, can he be contacted? What does he look like, and where can he be found? What does Satan say about the existence of "God"? A chapter is included for Satan's rebuttal to the argument that God may, in fact, exist.

In this “vibrant, sensitive, and unusual” Regency romance, a woman must tame a beast of a man while he seeks to bring out her most primitive desires (Romantic Times). When prim English governess Chelsea Wickersham agrees to tutor the long-lost heir of the mysterious Cane estate, she expects to find a young boy eager to learn. But she is shocked to discover that her new pupil is not a boy—in fact, he barely seems to be a man. Wild and uncivilized, Sullivan Cane was only recently found on a remote island and brought back to take his rightful place within the family. But Cane is no simple beast. After years of self-exile away from his scheming relations, he was forced to return to his family estate in Scotland. Now, he continues to play the role of wild man to outwit his backstabbing brethren. Even as he grows exhausted of his brutish pretense, he takes pleasure in watching the walls of Chelsea’s façade crumble. But while passion grows between teacher and student, a sinister enemy lurks in their midst, threating their love and their lives . . . This alluring novel of deception and desire will “make you laugh, cry and leave you sleepless while you try to read just one more page” (Affaire de Coeur).
