Teses e Dissertações na Academia: a busca da essência procura fazer uma leitura diferenciada de dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutorado apresentadas na Academia, visando à essência dos trabalhos, a fim de que eles ultrapassem o mero academicismo. This book analyzes the growing presence of hypnosis in academic settings around the world and its implications for research, healthcare and education. The increasing volume of scientific research on hypnosis and its clinical applications to treat health conditions such as pain, anxiety, trauma and depression has renewed the interest for this kind of practice in different disciplines, such as medicine, psychology, dentistry and nursing. As a result of this growing interest, there is an increasing number of spaces occupied by hypnosis in universities of different countries compared to what occurred in recent decades. Nevertheless, what this means, at various levels, is still far from being deciphered, due to the absence of more detailed research and surveys involving a larger number of institutions, students, faculty and research groups. This volume intends to shed a new light into the discussions about the growing presence of hypnosis in academia by bringing together contributions of practitioners and researchers working with hypnosis in academic settings in ten countries from different parts of the world: Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, France, Hungary, Israel, Portugal, Russia and Switzerland. The discussions presented in these contributions revolve around four axes of analysis: the historical trajectory of hypnosis within academic institutions; the epistemological nature of hypnosis and its relationships with other fields of knowledge; the importance of scientific research for the current development of hypnosis and its clinical applications; and how teaching and training in hypnosis is organized in universities today, with its ethical and legal implications in different cultural contexts. Uma das disciplinas mais odiada pelos alunos da maioria dos cursos de graduação é a Metodologia Científica. Normalmente perpassa um sentimento de que esta disciplina não pertence ao curso. Designing a fair, effective and acceptable regime that will reconcile public interest and the public’s need for an uninterrupted flow of essential services on the one hand, while maintaining the freedom of collective bargaining on the other, is an ever more difficult public policy challenge. This book, the first detailed comparative analysis of existing legal and practical approaches across a spectrum of key national jurisdictions, provides a structured and insightful overview of the law and practice of regulating strikes in essential services. As such it can be of great value for public policy debate and the enhancement of national law in the field. The editors have assembled experts from fourteen countries who describe and analyse their respective country’s experience with strikes in essential services and the legislative and judicial as well as informal approaches towards regulating and intervening in such strikes. As Pessoas com Deficiência (PcD) foram por muito tempo consideradas incapazes e estigmatizadas pela sociedade. Preconceitos e discriminações as excluíam do convívio com os demais, repercutindo diretamente nas formas de interações e vivências destas em seus espaços cotidianos. Na contemporaneidade, a deficiência é considerada um atributo da pessoa e faz parte de sua diversidade, portanto, as PcD têm os mesmos direitos e deveres dos demais cidadãos. Destsa forma, estsas vêm se organizando na luta por maior oportunidade na sociedade e, consequentemente, melhor qualidade de vida. Mesmo havendo avanços e mudanças positivas na vida das PcD, as transformações são lentas e a maior parte delas ainda vivem excluídas em termos socioespaciais. Essta percepção da realidade das PcD é fruto de investigações de diversas áreas de conhecimento, entre elas a Geografia. Os estudos da chamada Geografia da Deficiência (Geography of Disability) são muito difundidos nos países anglófonos, contudo ausentes no cenário da produção geográfica brasileira. Tais estudos mostram que as PcD não têm as mesmas oportunidades de acesso à educação, ao sistema de saúde, a empregos e à moradia. É com estse contexto que essta obra, ouvindo pessoas com diferentes deficiências, busca construir as bases de sustentação para a construção de uma Geografia da Deficiência brasileira.

Uma nova pedagogia está surgindo em decorrência das propostas de inovação didática subjacentes às tecnologias digitais da informação, comunicação e expressão (TICE)? Tendo essa questão geral como ponto de partida, elaborada após a realização de duas investigações exploratórias, no âmbito da pedagogia, como instrumento para a construção de uma nova realidade social e das metodologias de ensino praticadas por escolas inovadoras, esta tese de doutorado avançou na coleta e análise de percepções de doze pesquisadores experientes do campo das Tecnologias Educativas, com atuação relevante nos últimos 30 (trinta) anos. Concluiu-se que, apesar das evoluções e do avanço das TICE no campo educacional, elas não foram associadas às propostas pedagógicas e, com raríssimas exceções, não chegaram à sala de aula. Portanto, apesar de todo um movimento e de vários indícios em prol de uma nova Pedagogia, estamos num processo de ruptura entre ensino tradicional e inovador clamando por uma nova pedagogia.
