WHAT IS REALLY REAL? Is the chair you are sitting on really there? What does reality and existence mean to you? Can you, as an ordinary human, get a grip of what reality is or could be? Well, yes you can! You can raise your perception horizons without becoming a nuclear physicist, philosopher or priest. MAN IS AN UNCERTAINTY MACHINE. He is fine-tuned to deal with uncertainty. He is not primarily a love machine (I am of course the exception), nor a sex machine nor a fighting machine nor a hate machine and not even a gene machine. He is an UNCERTAINTY MACHINE. People like and seek certainty in their lives, but is uncertainty the real path or key to reality? Should we celebrate and embrace uncertainty? So let's start using all that uncertainty and applying it to every component of our very being. · Can we trust our senses or is perception deception? · Can we trust the physical objects we are seeing around us? What is the matter batter holding us all together and how does matter . . . chatter? · What is the relationship between mind and matter? Is it the case that If you don't mind, it doesn't matter? · Do we have free will or are we just a quantum puppet? · If religion is the opium of the masses, is science the amphetamine of the individual? Do we put too much reliance on science and is our conviction a restriction? · Could it be that doubt gives you clout? From the acclaimed author of The Elegance of the Hedgehog, A Strange Country, the sequel to The Life of Elves and described as a 'strange and poetic fantasy similar to the work of Tolkien' by the San Francisco Book Review, will transport readers to a lost world and remind them of the power of poetry and imagination. Alejandro de Yepes and Jesús Rocamora, young officers in the Spanish regular army, are stationed alone at Castillo when a friendly redhead named Petrus appears out of nowhere. There is something magnetic and deeply mysterious about him. Alejandro and Jesús are bewitched, and, in the middle of the sixth year of the longest war humankind has ever endured, they abandon their post to follow him across a bridge that only he can see. Petrus brings them to a world of lingering fog, strange beings, poetry, music, natural wonders, harmony and extraordinary beauty. This is where the fate of the world and all its living creatures is decided. Yet this world too is under threat. A long battle against the forces of disenchantment is drawing to a climactic close. Will poetry and beauty prevail over darkness and death? And what role will Alejandro and Jesús play?

I Was Hitler S Pilot written by Hans Baur and has been published by Grub Street Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-19 with History categories.

A chilling memoir by the man who flew the Führer. A decorated First World War pilot, Hans Baur was one of the leading commercial aviators of the 1920s before being pitched into the thick of it as personal pilot to a certain “Herr Hitler.” Hitler, who loathed flying, felt safe with Baur and would allow no one else to pilot him. As a result, an intimate relationship developed between the two men and it is this which gives these memoirs special significance. Hitler relaxed in Baur’s company and talked freely of his plans and of his real opinions about his friends and allies. Baur was also present during some of the most salient moments of the Third Reich; the Röhm Putsch, the advent of Eva Braun, Ribbentrop’s journey to Moscow, the Bürgerbräukeller attempt on Hitler’s life; and, when war came, he flew Hitler from front to front. He remained in Hitler’s service right up to the final days in the Führerbunker. In a powerful account of Hitler’s last hours, Baur describes his final discussions with Hitler before his suicide; and his last meeting with Magda Goebbels in the tortuous moments before she killed her children. Remarkably, throughout it all, Baur’s loyalty to the Führer never wavered. His memoirs capture these events in all their fascinating and disturbing detail.

Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette. Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate. With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart? The Parasol Protectorate is a comedy of manners set in Victorian London: full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking. This boxed set includes the whole series: Soulless, Changeless, Blameless, Heartless, and Timeless.
