Gale Newman was born and raised in Turlock, California. He attended U.C. Berkeley on an athletic scholarship. After graduation, he attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. From that school, he received a Masters of Divinity degree and a few years later, a Doctor of Ministry. He has served churches in Oregon, Indiana and California. While serving those churches, he instituted home Bible studies, believing them to be essential for Chrisitan growth. During those years, he noticed a need for more material that could be used in those settings. This study is an attempt to meet that need. Dr. Newman has three sons, Eric, Andy, and Brian who live in different communities around America. The Truth About The Lie is a Bible study designed to promote Christian growth in individuals through personal study or in group home Bible studies. According to Jesus, Satan authored "The Lie" (John 8:44). Jesus, who is "The Truth", came to confront "The Lie" and its effects upon the world. He offered "a way of escape" (1 Cor. 10:13) and through belief in "The Truth", Salvation (1 Tim. 2). The apostles Peter, John and Paul all refer to the conflict between "The Truth" and "The Lie" using these same terms. This book takes many of those passages and guides the student into an understanding of them. As this occurs. the Holy Spirit will challenge the Christian to live "The Truth" in the same way Jesus did.

MY CASE: The greatest investigation of all time provides the evidence that over six billion people have been lied to by religion. Previous criticisms of religion leverage narrower fields of evidence, such as its evil history, which only proves its wickedness. I will prosecute religion by calling on expert witnesses from historicity, neuroscience, microbiology, astronomy and more, providing the most comprehensive and convincing case against the greatest lie ever. Revealed is the construction of some of the world's most influential religions, providing the who, why and how they were made, leaving no doubt that all scripture is the word of man with no divine guidance. I explain how we discovered some of the tools in science relevant to my case, from the Cosmic Distance Ladder, Doppler, speed of light, general star chemistry, physics and life cycles to DNA, element dating and more, so the answers they provide are understood to be true and accurate, from the Big Bang forward to the real Adam or Eve. Neuroscience sheds light on religion's grip and why creationism has not been widely replaced by knowledge. The ancient innocence of creation mythology was harnessed by evil religious dogma, creating a mindset easily led into conspiracy propaganda for hidden agendas. The problems created by the believing mind cannot be understated, from pandemic denial to dangerous political choices. Dogmatic belief is bringing our world down. Can we intercept our dangerous future? ONLY if we understand what is TRUE and what is NOT. Cast your verdict online, for you are the jury.

The Truth About Lying written by Stephen Costello and has been published by The Liffey Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-11 with Psychology categories.
In this forthright and fascinating study, Dr Stephen J. Costello, philosopher and logotherapist, takes us on a profound journey into the intricate and intriguing nature of the dynami of lying. Drawing on philosophy, logical puzzles and Lacanian psychoanalysis, Costello investigates the types of lies we tell, the lies that include a good deal of truth, how and why children lie, the lies lovers tell, self-deception and much more. In the final section of the book Costello focuses in particular on how men and women lie in different ways. Men, he argues, lie in the guise of truth while women tell the truth in the guise of a lie. Men tend to be more direct while women are more deceptive. Men lie to create a better image of themselves, women lie to make others feel more comfortable. Provocative, while also frequently amusing, The Truth about Lying is a pithy primer on the act and art of lying. “This is an absolutely fascinating book . . . a quite extraordinary range of information . . . I can only encourage everyone to read it and thoroughly enjoy it as I did.” - Ivor Browne, from the Foreword

All children lie. But when your child lies to you, it can feel like a personal betrayal. Backed by years of psychological research, this common-sense, practical guide reveals which parenting strategies promote truthfulness in children—and which ones don’t. National Parenting Product Award Winner, 2023 Lying is a healthy and inevitable part of child development. But when do lies become a problem? In this book, psychologist Victoria Talwar, Director of the Talwar Child Development Lab at McGill University, presents practical, science-based strategies to address lying and foster truthfulness in children, from early childhood to the teenage years. Kids need to learn what honesty looks like in different social situations, and also how to tell the truth in ways that do not hurt others’ feelings—a complicated task! Parents and caregivers will learn how to use stories and examples to have proactive conversations with children about honesty, and how to model honest behavior for children. Talwar shows readers how to respond effectively when a child lies (as they inevitably will). Backed by years of psychological research, this common-sense, practical guide reveals which parenting strategies promote truthfulness in children—and which ones don’t.

There is no time for the people of the world to waste to decide to change their ways and their ways of living. The world is in a crisis that it has not been in before. Actually the world has been in countless crises in the past, before disaster, calamity or catastrophe struck the people of the earth. We are not talking of crises of natural disasters, calamities or catastrophes that have hit the earth, we are talking about man made, man engineered and man designed disasters, calamities and catastrophes that have hit the world from time to time. History is full of them and apart from those natural disasters caused by God or the Devil themselves; the rest were caused by man themselves. Now this revelation is not about the natural but about the spiritual. Power mad dictators, rulers and potentates the world over are normally the cause of these disasters, calamities and catastrophes and nature has little to do with them although they did affect nature, in some way or another. Small and great Wars were started by whosoever caused them without any due regard of mens lives, and the resultant horrors, hardships and horrendous pain, lived on in the hearts and lives of the people that survived. No one can add these things up nor can they count the cost in human suffering, misery and pain, nor the cost of mens souls lost all for the sake of mans vanity. "The current synopsis is catchy and intriguing. This synopsis is well written and it will entice readers into picking this book up and reading it." - Cynthia Sherman Writers Literary & Publishing Services, Critique Division

What seems to be happening throughout the last decade is the gradual invalidation and dissolution of what we used to call ‘Truth’, and hence the disruption and gradual dissolution of what Foucault had called the existing hierarchical “Regime of Truth”. What remains is not what Marx had hoped to be a more egalitarian regime in which “the educator{s themselves are also] educated”, but rather a ‘Humpty Dumpty Regime’, where ‘Truth’ is whatever the Humpty-Dumpty in power wants it to be. This book argues that this is an unmediated outcome of the profound social, cultural and economic crisis of neoliberal capitalism, and its political corollary, the meteoric rise of populism and authoritarianism, not only in the so-called ‘developing’ countries, but throughout the entire globe. CONTENTS PREFACE INTRODUCTION: AFTER NEOLIBERALISM, THE FLOOD? CHAPTER 1. ON RADICAL AMBIGUITY CHAPTER 2. THE MIDAS BLESSING: TURNING COMMODITIES INTO GIFTS CHAPTER 3. THE END OF TRUTH AS WE KNOW IT – THE DISINTEGRATION OF THE UNIVERSITY DISCOURSE CHAPTER 4. THE GAME OF THRONES AS A FAILED ATTEMPT AT UNIVERSAL POPULISM CHAPTER 5. THE PSYCHOPOLITICS OF THE ENTITLED VICTIM – THE COMING OF AGE OF CONTEMPORARY POPULISM
