Jimmy Crikey decides to return to his birthplace - star world Attalia. The hidden star ship is reactivated with the assistance of Aunt Ethel and its progress through space-time is aided by XRU, the on-board interactive computer. The ship's defence systems are brutally battered and breached during Jimmy's explosive battle with the marauding forces of the Kursh, from the planet Ock. Forced to abandon the crippled star ship Jimmy struggles to free XRU before ejecting in a life support capsule. Jimmy is recued by the Attalian Rescue Mission. Its commander, Zaru, befriends the long lost Attalian youngster. Meanwhile tension builds in the face of an anticipated major attack from Ock. It is believed that Kursh has developed a weapon that will breach the Attalian defences. There follows an interplanetary war waged with missiles, lasers and force fields. Jimmy devises a strategy to save the situation and they manage to maroon Kursh forever in nether-space and permanently close the time portal between Ock and Attalia. Peace is assured but Jimmy must now decide where his future lies.
