This is the fourth edition of Alchemical Symbols. The purpose of this revision is to add more symbols, correct a small number of errors, and improve the overall layout of the text. We believe this to be the most comprehensive presentation of alchemical symbols available. Portions of the following symbol tables appeared in the "Last Will and Testament" of Basilius Valentinus in the seventeenth century. That table has been augmented with symbols from other sources including the "Alchemist's Handbook" by Frater Albertus, Dom Antoine Joseph Pernety's "The Great Art," Stanislas Klossowski de Rola's "Alchemy: The Secret Art," information taken from the works of Agrippa and John Read, symbols from the Bacstrom Manuscripts, and many other sources. For details please see the References section. The second part of this work is a dictionary of basic Gematria. For those desirous of seeking possible hidden meaning in the alchemistical writings through the Qabalah, the Hebrew of key alchemically-oriented words is presented along with the numerical equivalences. Following that is a short Glossary of Latin Terms of interest to students of alchemy, tables of common conversion factors, and a list of abbreviations.

Considered the precursor to chemistry, the field of alchemy stretches back to ancient history, and as it evolved, became inevitably entangled with witchcraft and magic. To keep their work secret and protect it from theft, alchemists wrote in fascinating and sometimes intricate symbols representing every element, substance, compound, process, unit and intervention. These markings are esoteric in nature and historically important, being that together, they hold the potential for the key to the creation of the Philosopher's Stone itself. Understand the concepts of Magnus Opus, Prima Materia, Tria Prima, Classical Elements, Seven Planetary Metals and Ritualistic Magic in alchemy, together with a multitude of alchemical symbols within this book, suitable for people new to the field of alchemy.

Published by: GLOBAL ACADEMY, 2013 Language: English E-mail: [email protected] Website: https://www.globalacademy.com.tr This thoughtful study, which antedates the work of Jung by a generation, represents the first serious attempt to correlate the methods of psychoanalysis with the literature of alchemy and of other great Western mystical and occult traditions. Dr. Silberer was a prominent member of the Vienna School whose untimely death prevented this, his major published work, from receiving the attention it clearly merited. Included is a wealth of material taken directly from alchemical and Rosicrucian sources. Symbolisms of salt, sulphur and mercury; of the prison, the abyss and the grave; of putrefaction and procreation; and of the sun, moon, and planets are carefully analyzed and explained. Passages from the works of Hermes Trismegistus, Flamel, Lacinius, Michael Meier, Paracelsus, and Boehme are cited both as important sources of alchemical doctrine and to substantiate the thesis that alchemy was a spiritual discipline of the highest order, comparable to the Yoga of the East. The entire inquiry is based on a parable from the pages of "Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer," an eighteenth-century alchemical text. After a general exposition of dream and myth interpretation, Dr. Silberer proceeds to a psychoanalytic interpretation of the parable and then gives a detailed account of the traditions and practices of the alchemists, Rosicrucians, and Freemasons. Returning to the parable, he introduces the problem of dual interpretations; for while the psychoanalytic approach focuses on the depths of the impulsive life, the hermetic and mystical leads to the heights of spirituality. The heart of the book is an attempt to reconcile these divergent philosophies and a meditation on the relationship of introversion to mysticism.

This book, by Jung's long-time friend and co-worker, completely demystifies the subject. Book Of The Explanation Of The Symbols written by Mohammad Ibn Umail and has been published by Daimon this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003 with Alchemy categories.

Volume I of CALA presents the first edition of Hall ar-Rumuz (Explanation of the Symbols), one of the most important representatives of the symbolic branch of alchemy. Ibn Umail’s description of the alchemical work is a symbolic rendering of his experience of an inner-psychic process of transformation that he considered as being the highest goal in human life. Ibn Umail’s symbolic attitude facilitates a kind of inter-confessionalism: he states in Hall ar-Rumuz that "the result of the alchemical work can be produced by a person from any religion". The psychic transformation achieved by the work leads to the stone, a symbol for the solidified divine kernel of an individual. This center also has a collective dimension. Thus Ibn Umail also names the stone "mosque" or "temple". His work connects and bridges the Ancient Egyptian quest for immortality directly with later Latin alchemy and the modern depth psychology of C.G. Jung with its aim of creating spiritual gold: consciousness. Ibn Umail’s work thus constitutes an important cultural link in the history of the spiritual aspect of alchemy.

Herbert Silberer's examinations of alchemy and the occult, and his attempts to correlate the two crafts to the pursuit of psychoanalysis, is published here complete with the original illustrations. First published in 1917, this text represents the extensive investigations Herbert Silberer undertook in order to map occurrences in the occult with the ascendant psychoanalytic disciplines present in the Vienna School of which he was part. This text is marked by its depth of research, with sources such as Hermes Trismegistus, Flamel, Lacinius, Michael Meier, Paracelsus, and Boehme quoted and drawn upon in service of Silberer's thesis. The support of alchemy as a spiritual movement, on the same level as the yoga traditions of the Indian subcontinent, is also notable. Together with the three original illustrations, this edition also contains the extensive bibliography and notes of Silberer.
