The PDE is directed at the creation of a workbook-text dealing with the House-Tree-Person Drawings (HTP). the purpose of the book is to provide mental health counselors with a primer on the administration of the HTP test and the analysis of the corresponding drawings by a given subject. the history of HTP is discussed as is the development of the field since the introduction of HTP in 1948 by John N. Buck. the methodology which led to the creation of the PDE workbook is discussed. Contents of the workbook include general comments about the origin of the HTP test and how it is best used, the significance of signs in HTP drawings and their interpretations, administration of the HTP test, the study of thirty annotated sets of HTP drawings by adult males and females, a self test based on the analysis of two cases by the reader and the comparisons of these analyses with those of the author and a discussion of the post drawing interview. A copy of the PDE is presented for the review of the Doctoral Committee. the PDE includes a report on the results of a qualitative survey in which a group of counselors (n = 10) working under supervision was requested to review and evaluate a draft copy of the HTP Workbook. Closing comments caution the reader on the limitations of the HTP test.
