Her father was a shepherd, her mother a bull-terrier; both parents were apparently normal. The litter included in addition to this abnormal individual one normal brother and three normal Sisters. The six-legged puppy appeared in life otherwise normal and healthy, and was apparently but little inconvenienced in walking and running by the extra pair of legs, which She carried slightly raised above the ground. Excerpt from The Anatomical Record, Vol. 15: August, 1918 February, 1919 In experimental work for demonstrating the presence of lymph vessels in the dental pulp,1 use was made of vital staining as a supplementary attempt to Obtain some histological information regarding endothelial lined perivascular or other lymph-channels. There are Observations recorded in the literature Which are vaguely suggestive of such a possibility. Of particular interest from this standpoint are statements made by Brass2 and by Evans,3 that the endothelial cells lining the sinuses and lymph channels Of lymph-glands are always intensely stained, and by Kiyono' that vitaliy stained endothelial cells are found in the lymph spaces Of the interstitial tissue of the lung. Excerpt from The Anatomical Record, Vol. 1 The American Journal of Anatomy will set aside a few pages in each number to form a special section under the heading "Anatomical Record." The Record, as the term implies, will contain brief preliminary reports; short reviews or estimates of really noteworthy publications; critical notes on topics of iterest to anatomists; concise statements of courses, laboratory plans and events, appointments, etc.; and occasional brief notes on Technique. It should develop into something more than a mere perfunctory collection of news items, and it is hoped that favorable notice of a publication in these pages will come to be regarded as an honor. The Journal would aid in directing attention to problems affecting the development of the science of Anatomy, the organization for teaching it, and its relations with other branches. While not attempting to dictate, the Journal may well be useful in assisting the forming of opinion by serving as a medium of expression for all well-considered views on anatomical matters. While contributions are thus sought, it will be necessary to insist that all material for the Record be prepared with special care, and submitted in final and finished form.
