In the days of the ancient Mayans alien scientists arrived at Chicxulub in Yucatan to study what they thought were the remains of a huge meteor. To study the meteor, they dug several deep vertical shafts in the layers of rock covering the meteor, but they soon discovered that what they thought was a meteor was actually the remains of an ancient spacecraft from Parallel Universe Two. To enter or exit parallel universe two, a spacesh[p had to travel through a black hole. The aliens taught the Mayans how to build palaces for their chiefs, better methods of agriculture as well as better techniques for mining copper, gold, and silver. In addition, they taught the Mayans how to build pyramids. Miller and his scientific team discovered with help of the NASA and the International Space Station that the aliens actually placed homing beacons in some of the pyramids built by the Mayans. Before the alien scientists left, they told the Mayans that they should take a strange gold colored metal disk with a faceted green stone in its center to a cave in the headwaters of the Río Vinasco in what is now the state of Veracruz. The aliens told the Mayans that the disk must always be kept in this cave and never be moved. The disk that Miller and his team of scientists later called the "Apocalypse Calendar" was designed to protect the Earth from self-destruction some fifteen hundred years in the future. .

The Tang dynasty is often called China’s “golden age,” a period of commercial, religious, and cultural connections from Korea and Japan to the Persian Gulf, and a time of unsurpassed literary creativity. Mark Lewis captures a dynamic era in which the empire reached its greatest geographical extent under Chinese rule, painting and ceramic arts flourished, women played a major role both as rulers and in the economy, and China produced its finest lyric poets in Wang Wei, Li Bo, and Du Fu. This open access book explores the historical, cultural and philosophical contexts that have made anti-poverty the core of Chinese society since Liberation in 1949, and why poverty alleviation measures evolved from the simplistic aid of the 1950s to Xi Jinping’s precision poverty alleviation and its goal of eliminating absolute poverty by 2020. The book also addresses the implications of China’s experience for other developing nations tackling not only poverty but such issues as pandemics, rampant urbanization and desertification exacerbated by global warming. The first of three parts draws upon interviews of rural and urban Chinese from diverse backgrounds and local and national leaders. These interviews, conducted in even the remotest areas of the country, offer candid insights into the challenges that have forced China to continually evolve its programs to resolve even the most intractable cases of poverty. The second part explores the historic, cultural and philosophical roots of old China’s meritocratic government and how its ancient Chinese ethics have led to modern Chinese socialism’s stance that “poverty amidst plenty is immoral”. Dr. Huang Chengwei, one of China’s foremost anti-poverty experts, explains the challenges faced at each stage as China’s anti-poverty measures evolved over 70 years to emphasize “enablement” over “aid” and to foster bottom-up initiative and entrepreneurialism, culminating in Xi Jinping’s precision poverty alleviation. The book also addresses why national economic development alone cannot reduce poverty; poverty alleviation programs must be people-centered, with measurable and accountable practices that reach even to household level, which China has done with its “First Secretary” program. The Mandate of Heaven was originally given to King Wen in the 11th century BC. King Wen is credited with founding the Zhou dynasty after he received the Mandate from Heaven to attack and overthrow the Shang dynasty. King Wen is also credited with creating the ancient oracle known as the Yijing or Book of Changes. This book validates King Wen's association with the Changes. It uncovers in the Changes a record of a total solar eclipse that was witnessed at King Wen's capital of Feng by his son King Wu, shortly after King Wen had died (before he had a chance to launch the full invasion). The sense of this eclipse as an actual event has been overlooked for three millennia. It provides an account of the events surrounding the conquest of the Shang and founding of the Zhou dynasty that has never been told. It shows how the earliest layer of the Book of Changes (the Zhouyi) has preserved a hidden history of the Conquest.
