The job of a vocal coach is to help people improve their voices, to speak, act or sing. That seems clear to everyone. What is often underestimated is that no result can be achieved if the health of the vocal cords is not preserved intact. In fact, it is impossible to develop a conscious and harmonious voice when the vocal cords have suffered any form of damage or abuse. The art of using voice, elocution, rhetoric, dialectic, and singing is something as simple as it is complex. All these words I mentioned have a very precise meaning, but essentially they aim to express the same idea: to communicate effectively the feelings of the soul. This guide is the result of my experience as an international vocal coach. I have been recognized in the most important cities in the world, including New York, London, and Milan, as Italian excellence in the world by prestigious institutions and I was also the first vocal coach ever appointed as "Topic Expert" by one of the most important universities in Italy for their Communication Skills Course. The heart of this guide is how to maintain, exercise and develop your voice without risking to ruin it during the process. This Guide contains: - Mylena's Vocal Coach five golden rules- 28 Practical advices- 25 Testimony

Excerpt from The Art of Breathing as the Basis of Tone-Production: A Book Indispensable to Cingers, Elocutionists, Educators, Lawyers, Preachers, and to All Others Desirous of Having a Pleasant Voice and Good Health My book differs from the great majority of other works upon voice-culture in still another respect. The majority have been writ ten when their authors were yet in the teens of their professional career. In perusing these volumes we come across many' places where the thought involuntarily crosses our minds: How much bet ter it would have been if the author had waited twenty years before writing his book! I entered the musical profession young in life, and have always been a very close student, especially of vocal sci ence; still I did not dare to come outwith one printed sentence until I was satisfied that I could say something that had been matured within myself, and that had borne fruit for years in the many pupils who do credit to the principles Of my book. To the friends of the first edition, who may miss a great many things in this volume that were in The Old Italian School, I wish to say that my intention is to publish the remainder some day in a separate book. The reason that I have paid so much attention to the laws of tone-production is because I know that without them voice-culture is a farce, and instead of leading to artistic singing, vocal instruction is degraded to a system of tricks and to virtuosity in howling. (Book). The human voice expresses more than words, more than music. Vocal expression links the listener directly to another person's inner feelings, body, and soul. Keeping the voice healthy used to be as mysterious as the power of voice itself. Modern science has revealed much about the vocal mechanism and its health requirements, but simple information for the average voice user has remained hard to find and harder to trust. In Everyday Voice Care: The Lifestyle Guide for Singers and Talkers , respected voice therapist Joanna Cazden brings together a wealth of practical tips and advice to help keep your own expressive voice in top working order. Drawing from her experience as a singer, theater artist, and a licensed speech pathologist who has treated more than 1,000 voice patients, Cazden integrates up-to-date medical information with common-sense suggestions and sympathy for the demands of contemporary life. Chapters on food and drink, cold remedies, loud parties, travel, fitness routines, and when to see a doctor are complemented by notes on alternative health care and the spiritual dimension of vocal rest. This invaluable resource for voice and speech professionals, students, and teachers will answer even the age-old question of whether to put lemon or honey in your tea.
