Magnus Beckey was born 1752 in Evie and Rendall Parish, Orkney Co., Scotland. He immigrated to the United States at the age of seventeen and landed in Boston. He enlisted into the military at Beverly, Massachuessetts in January 1776. Magnus married Serviah Langley in 1780. After Serviah died , he married Sarah Trowbridge. He was the father of at least nine known children. Descendants lived primarily in Maine, Michigan, Kansas and elsewhere.
