This book considers the place of behaviour analysis in education and describes work on behavioural classroom management in British schools. Four further chapters consider the behavioural approach to teaching in both primary and secondary schools in terms of tutoring at home and for use with emotionally disturbed children. The book concludes with chapters on the role of theory in and an ethical appraisal of behavioural methods.

Positive Teaching written by Kevin Wheldall and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-13 with Education categories.

Problems of classroom management and control are a recurring concern for many teachers. Disruptive behaviour and inattention hinder effective learning and impose a constant drain upon the teachers’ emotional resources. Continual nagging at children only increases teacher stress: what is needed is an effective alternative set of strategies. Originally published in 1984, Positive Teaching seeks to meets this need by presenting the behavioural approach to teaching in a clear, direct and lucid way. By adopting the behavioural approach, problem behaviour can be minimised, or rapidly nipped in the bud when it does arise. While punishment may be used in an attempt to stop almost any kind of behaviour, only the appropriate use of positive methods applied contingently, immediately and consistently can teach new, more adaptive behaviour. This is a crucial issue in real teaching and is rarely encountered or even discussed in most teacher education programmes. It is the central focus of Positive Teaching. This book is for all teachers, from the beginning student to experienced head teachers; for those teaching in a first school, and for those teaching sixth-formers; for those experiencing difficulties and for those whose authority is already well established. The behavioural approach offers practical support to those who are struggling and a rationale for the effective, positive strategies of the successful. We can all improve our teaching.

Psychology For As Level written by Michael W. Eysenck and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Psychology categories.

Now in full colour, this thoroughly revised and updated 3rd edition of Psychology for AS Level takes into account all the latest changes to the AQA-A syllabus since the last edition was published. It remains closely mapped to the specification making it ideal for students taking the AS Level Psychology exam. New to this edition is a strong emphasis on exam technique, giving students the best chance possible of the highest grades. A whole chapter is devoted to how to study and how to pass, with an 'Examiner's Viewpoint' written by the Chief Examiner at AQA-A. Throughout the book are hints and tips on picking up marks, and there are constant page references to the summarised content in our companion AS revision guide. Further examination support is provided by our accompanying student website, AS Online, available on a subscription basis to all schools and sixth form colleges that adopt the text. This includes a Student Workbook, interactive exercises, sample essays, interactive multiple-choice questions, a complete Exam Companion and much more. We also provide teacher resources free of charge to qualifying adopters which include a week-by-week teaching plan, sample essays, chapter-by-chapter lecture presentations, and classroom exercises and activities. Please see http://www.a-levelpsychology.co.uk/online for further details of these resources and a demo chapter of AS Online. The book includes coverage of six key areas in psychology: human memory, attachments in development, stress, abnormality, social influence and research methods. It retains the thorough content, volume of features and excellent writing style of previous editions but the layout is now fully structured to improve accessibility. Unlike other A-Level textbooks which focus solely on passing the exam, ‘Psychology for AS Level’ is also designed to foster an interest in the study of psychology as a subject. To this end, the book includes an additional general chapter to introduce the theories and explanations that make psychology a fascinating discipline.

Academic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Medicine - Neurology, Psychiatry, Addiction, grade: 2, Egerton University, language: English, abstract: It appears that the field of psychology is becoming extremely fascinating day-by-day owing to the sophistication of newly designed psychology approaches and research advancement. It is evidently true that the discipline of psychology has undergone transient evolution since its inception, and further developments are inevitable because; psychological research is currently widening to incorporate different perspective, which were not studied in psychology in the past. Initially, psychology emerged as one of the classical disciplines of science but, it has advanced significantly, especially after psychologists established the new branch of applied psychology whose application is gaining popularity. Currently, psychology does not only entail the social aspect of the human mind, but it also involves biological perspective and, this has led to the emergence of biopsychology and cognitive psychology. However, it is worth noting that there are different approaches of psychology but, behaviourist approach seems to explain the interaction of the human mind and the environment. Therefore, this essay will provide a comprehensive description of the behavioural approach and evaluate its strengths and limitations.
