The Zoo Keeper’s Daughter By: Pat Alleyne The Zoo Keeper’s Daughter is about a young girl name Milky who lives with her parents. Milky, who lives on the other side of the world, cannot understand why her dreams are tormented with shadows of black cats and a boy with blue eyes, though she is always protected by African elephants. Later in life, she is confronted in her dream by the angel Nadine. Milky has heard her name before, in a séance that was done when she was a very young girl. But, this time, the angel comes with a message: that Milky is the chosen one. Sean’s life is different. At a very young age, he lost his missionary parents in Africa. A war had broken out among the tribes and many lives and animals were consumed by fire and bloodshed. Sean was found in the jungle unconscious and was housed in a hospital tent. After time had passed, the war was over. Sean was lucky to be adopted and brought to England. Growing up in England, he soon discovered he had magical powers, which he kept a secret. There is another thing Sean starts to experience—his dreams of meeting a beautiful brown-skinned girl by the name of Milky. But he found himself laughing and saying it is only a dream. But later, as Sean became older and came to America to complete his education, he finally meets the girl of his dreams. That’s when their adventure started. For those of you who fancy angels, you will most definitely fall in love with Milky and Sean. They will enhance your life with their great adventure.

Fred and Helen Martini longed for a baby, and they ended up with dozens of lion and tiger cubs! Snuggle up to this purr-fect read aloud about the Bronx Zoo's first female zoo-keeper. When Bronx Zoo-keeper Fred brought home a lion cub, Helen Martini instantly embraced it. The cub's mother lost the instinct to care for him. "Just do for him what you would do with a human baby," Fred suggested...and she did. Helen named him MacArthur, and fed him milk from a bottle and cooed him to sleep in a crib. Soon enough, MacArthur was not the only cub bathed in the tub! The couple continues to raise lion and tiger cubs as their own, until they are old enough to return them to zoos. Helen becomes the first female zookeeper at the Bronx zoo, the keeper of the nursery. This is a terrific non-fiction book to read aloud while snuggling up with your cubs! Filled with adorable baby cats, this is a story about love, dedication, and a new kind of family. Gorgeously patterned illustrations by Julie Downing detail the in-home nursery and a warm pallet creates a cozy pairing with Candace Fleming's lovely language. Backmatter includes a short biography of Helen Martini and a selected bibliography. Zooborns Motherly Love written by Andrew Bleiman and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-10-11 with Nature categories.

An adorable installment in the ZooBorns series, ZooBorns Motherly Love celebrates the special bond between exotic animal mothers and their babies from every corner of the globe: “Animal babies make conservation cute,” raves The New York Times. ZooBorns Motherly Love is all about mothers and their babies. Photographs that capture the power of a mother’s love consistently attract explosive interest on the wildly popular ZooBorns website, and now, for the first time, they have been collected in this book. ZooBorns Motherly Love explores the special role mothers play in our lives: they do more for us than they do for themselves, worry about us more than we’ll ever know, and love us more than anyone else can…no matter their species. By highlighting these adorable and recognizable moments, from a sea otter cradling her newborn pup to a lioness gently tugging her cub back to her side, ZooBorns connects you to the animals featured here and builds awareness for the challenges these species face in the wild. Remember, these babies are much more than just irresistible furry faces. They are ambassadors for their species, helping educate about conservation while they entertain. In fact, 10 percent of all ZooBorns’ revenue from the sale of these books goes directly to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Conservation Endowment Fund. This book is sure to put a smile on your face and warm your heart.

Animal Ethics written by Bob Fischer and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-06 with Philosophy categories.

There are many introductions to the animal ethics literature. There aren’t many introductions to the practice of doing animal ethics. Bob Fischer’s Animal Ethics: A Contemporary Introduction fills that gap, offering an accessible model of how animal ethics can be done today. The book takes up classic issues, such as the ethics of eating meat and experimenting on animals, but tackles them in an empirically informed and nuanced way. It also covers a range of relatively neglected issues in animal ethics, such as the possibility of insect sentience and the ethics of dealing with pests. Finally, the book doesn’t assess every current practice using standard ethical theories, but tries to evaluate some of them using the moral frameworks endorsed by those involved. So, for instance, there is a chapter on the way that animal care and use committees try to justify some of the educational uses of animals, and the chapter on zoos considers the way that international zoological societies justify compromising animal welfare. The book wraps up with a discussion of the future of animal ethics. Each chapter opens with a helpful initial overview of the chapter and ends with a list of suggested readings to help students go further on their own. Key Features Covers animal ethics from an empirically informed perspective, bringing philosophy into conversation with key issues in animal science, conservation biology, economics, ethology, and legal studies, among other fields Provides ample coverage of the most salient current topics, including, for example: Debates about which animals are sentient The suffering of wild animals Research ethics The boundaries of activism Avoids suggesting that animal ethics is simply the practice of applying the right general theory to a problem, instead allowing readers to first work out the specific costs and benefits of making ethical decisions Impresses upon the reader the need for her to work out for herself the best way forward with difficult ethical issues, suggesting that progress can indeed be made Includes summaries and recommended readings at the end of each chapter
