All You Want to Know About Hell breaks down the three most popular views on hell and tells us what the Bible really says about this terrifying and mystifying place. It is an undeniable fact that the very concept of hell is shrouded in mystery. We know what books and movies tell us hell is like, but we're left with so many questions. Is hell simply a place where sinners are sent to suffer for their sins, or is it more than that? How could a loving God send anyone to hell? Does the Bible give us a clear and consistent picture of hell? What does the existence of hell tell us about God's character? Steve Gregg--author of Revelation: Four Views--will take you on a tour of the three most popular views on hell and walk you through a clear explanation of what Scripture really says. From the "traditional" view of hell as a place of eternal torment to the early Christian view that hell is a place of suffering intended to purge sin and to bring about repentance, no other book gives such in-depth biblical insight into the truths about hell that are hidden in all the hype. All You Want to Know About Hell is an accessible and interesting read for laypeople, pastors, and scholars alike.

Many Christians are deeply disturbed by the idea that there is a real hell in which people suffer forever and ever according to the Bible. This is especially true with respect to Christians who believe that they have loved ones who might end up in this horrendous place. What a relief it would be for them to see that such a hell is not claimed by the Bible. To that end, author John D. Frey leads readers on a well-researched journey that investigates what the Bible really says about hell. The author provides overwhelming evidence that there is no hell in which anyone suffers in any way and this evidence is based on what is claimed by the Bible. The book contains 12 chapters. Chapter 1 presents the events that occurred in a place near the walls of Jerusalem called the valley of Hinnom, later translated to “hell”. Chapters 2-3 primarily deal with events surrounding Jesus and Isaiah. Chapters 4-5 discuss the events in the parables of Jesus and visions of John in the book of Revelation. Chapter 6 explores Bible passages that explain what finally happens to the unrighteous. Chapters 7-8 explore why both Gentile Christians of the second century and some modern Christian denominations believe in a hell in which unrighteous people will suffer forever. Chapters 9-10 explore the concepts of Sheol and Hades in the Bible and what Jewish Rabbis say about hell. Chapter 11 confirms the existence of heaven. Finally, in chapter 12, concluding thoughts are presented.

Many people think of hell as a mythical place where bad people go to be poked by little devils with pitchforks. The Bible actually speaks of two different places called hell. One is temporary, and is currently occupied – but only by humans. The other is eternal and currently vacant. One day the occupants of the temporary hell will be moving to the eternal one, where they will be joined by the devil and all his demons. Nobody will have pitchforks, though. In this text, Paul Kasch will guide you through a scriptural exploration of the two hells in the Bible. You will learn about the nature of each place, and their likely locations. You will see what the Bible says about the temperature and lighting in each hell. Most importantly, you will come to understand who goes to these places, and learn how you can stay the hell out of them!

TAKE A SECOND GLANCE AT THE SECOND DEATH. God's word reveals how and why We Got Hell WRONG and points us back in the RIGHT direction! Many of us assume that biblical doctrines have been served to our churches on silver platters. Neither Scripture nor History assures us that such is the case. Instead, we are encouraged to 'test all things' (1 Thessalonians 5:21). This guide presents extensive biblical evidence for truths that have been tragically overlooked. Will you take another look at the Scriptures to hear God's voice above all others? Here are 5 reasons to read this book... 1. It's mostly Scripture: Being mostly comprised of Scripture, this book provides a space to hear God's voice above all others. Here, God's word is the main event. This could transform your life, understanding of the Gospel, and walk with God for good! 2. You're encouraged to See For Yourself: Included in this book is an optional activity whereby you may discover the truth about hell for yourself. With just a Bible and a pen, the See For Yourself section encourages you to use discernment and come to your own conclusion! No external influence. Just you and God. 3. Three Bible versions are included: The ESV, KJV, and NRSV are much-admired literal translations of God's word. These have been selected for their faithfulness to the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. As we explore big subjects (such as the nature of human life, immortality, and hell), it is essential that we hear what God has spoken above any human interpretation. 4. Biblical keywords and phrases are highlighted in bold: Your time is precious. With so much to see in God's word, bold text will help you to focus on relevant keywords and phrases. This gives you greater freedom to go through this guide at your own pace. 5. It isn't one-sided: We will take an in-depth look at various counterclaims at the end of each chapter. This will allow us to be as balanced and thorough as possible! Contents: Intro - A brief introduction to the subject we will explore together! See For Yourself - An activity encouraging you to discover the truth without external influence. Chapter 1: HUMANS - A look at the nature of human beings and the soul according to Scripture and what this means for the nature of hell. Chapter 2: IMMORTALITY - A look at what the Bible says about mortality and immortality. This is also foundational to understanding the biblical revelation of hell. Chapter 3: HELL - A look at the descriptions of the lake of fire with evidence that the final judgment is not what many of us have assumed. How We Got Hell WRONG - A short and sweet overview of the historical reason for our misunderstanding of the Bible in this area! Outro - A final challenge and encouragement for readers. May God direct your hearts and minds to His truth as you consider His words afresh!

Heaven And Hell written by Bart D. Ehrman and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-23 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Over half of Americans believe in a literal heaven, in a literal hell. Most people who hold these beliefs are Christian and assume they are the age-old teachings of the Bible. Ehrman shows that eternal rewards and punishments are found nowhere in the Old Testament, and are not what Jesus or his disciples taught. He recounts the long history of the afterlife, ranging from The Epic of Gilgamesh up to the writings of Augustine, focusing especially on the teachings of Jesus and his early followers. Ehrman shows that competing views were intimately connected with the social, cultural, and historical worlds out of which they emerged. -- adapted from jacket

If we believe the Bible is the inerrant, divinely inspired word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, what is said within its pages about God and his unchangeable character must be consistent and never contradictory. Furthermore, in order to love God with all our heart, believing him to be a just, merciful, and loving God, what we believe from the Scriptures must adhere to the three Cs: Context, Consistency, and Character. For centuries, people have formulated doctrine by taking passages out of context. They have made conclusions about God's character in an inconsistent fashion and often in ways that malign our righteous and holy Creator. When Jesus came to earth, he did not form a new religion; he was a Jew and knew that God had given the sacred pronouncements of truth to the nation of Israel. What he taught about hell, death, resurrection, and judgment is entirely consistent with what God taught his people through the Mosaic Law, the prophets, and the psalms. In Hell No: The Surprising Truths the Bible Teaches about Death, Resurrection, and Judgment, you will see that the Bible is clear: humans never have and never will go to heaven, they are not inherently immortal, God will never torture souls in a hellfire, and all those who died and have paid the price for their sin (death) will be resurrected on earth during the judgment period with a clean slate and an opportunity to truly know God as they "learn war no more" under Christ's millennial reign. Hell No is a serious deep dive into Scripture but also a conversational foray into truth, written by a layperson for laypeople serious about searching the deep things of God to uncover the Bible's truths in order to better know and love their Creator.
