Langan (philosophy, U. of Toronto) examines the history of the Catholic Church and the origins of its teachings since the Church's conception. Although committed to the Catholic religion, he does not obscure the Church's failings as he lays out the fundamentals of the faith. He provides insights into the great Christological councils, discusses the differences in the spiritualities of East and West, and portrays the crucial roles that the pope and bishops played during the Middle Ages. Incorporating the thought of Augustine, Acquinas, and medieval Catholicism, he traces the rise and decline of Christian Europe and the issues raised by reform. The Church Triumphant at the End of the Age offers a victorious glimpse of His Bride in these Last Days. It is GOD working among His people as characterized by revival, restoration, unity, world evangelization, and persecution. The purpose of this book is to prepare all believers to rise up, touch their world with the Good News of Jesus, and share His glory throughout the earth. I have had a close-up look at this man and his ministry and can heartily endorse it. May God use this book to encourage His Church to do great exploits and triumphantly bring back the King! Loren Cunningham, Founder, Youth with a Mission International Few books have dared to document so fully the incredible ways in which God has been working in His Church. It should be required reading for any world-Christian. Jay Gary, Past Executive Editor, World Christian Magazine Two underlying themes of this book are: (1) We may expect a major, worldwide revival in coming years which will immediately precede Christs second coming, and (2) God has been progressively restoring the Church to the New Testament model, particularly in the last few centuries. Dr. Howard A. Snyder, Author of Radical Renewal: The Problem of Wineskins Today Nate Krupp has produced a major work which, if used as a text, can provide superb training for the harvesters. Dr. C. Peter Wagner, World renowned Missiologist, and Church growth expert

Since 70 AD, our so-called Christian forefathers have set us on a course that has only led us further and further away from understanding of the Words from heaven by promoting a false religion known as "The Church Age," which I refer to as "Churchism." This Church Age did not begin until about 325 AD and it dominated the Christian thinking for some 1,200 years before the Protestants broke away from it about five hundred years ago. It was the "Catholic Church" who created the Church Age and the world has been drawn into believing in this "ghost religion" that was never real or legitimate. It was not created from reading and understanding the Words from heaven. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom. 10:17, 18). Searching the Words from heaven is our duty to God as well as to ourselves and he will bless who he will bless with understanding. But there are many who will not be so blessed, "Unto you (Jesus's disciples) it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables" (Mark 4:11). The "Church-Age believers" are those who are "without" and for 1,700 years they have remained without, yet the world continues to accept their words as Gospel. There are two ways to know God, one is to see, with an open mind, his Creation in the world and universe, to be attentive to its magnificent diversity and harmony and the other is through his Words that he has written for us. The early American Indian only had the first way of knowing God until the new settlers came to America and introduced Churchism's "church salvation." Now both the Indian as well as all the civilized earth have been following a religion which became the worlds' greatest deception and hoax.

Shows how "New Age" principles have infiltrated the Catholic Church; being a combination of humanism; paganism; self-deification; Satanism and witchcraft; a far more dangerous movement than it appears! This is the first full-length study of the impact of the New Age Movement on Catholicism. Clear and down to earth. Tells what it is; what is wrong with it; where it came from and what to do about it. Very revealing!

The short answer: No. Along with Scripture, Thigpen draws from Church history, tradition, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and contemporary experience to reveal the shortcoming of the rapture doctrine. -- adapted from back cover

Embracing Age: How Catholic Nuns Became Models of Aging Well examines a community of individuals whose aging trajectories contrast mainstream American experiences. In mainstream American society, aging is presented as a “problem,” a state to be avoided as long as possible, a state that threatens one’s ability to maintain independence, autonomy, control over one’s surroundings. Aging “well” (or avoiding aging) has become a twenty-first century American preoccupation. Embracing Age provides a window into the everyday lives of American Catholic nuns who experience longevity and remarkable health and well-being at the end of life. Catholic nuns aren’t only healthier in older age, they are healthier because they practice a culture of acceptance and grace around aging. Embracing Age demonstrates how aging in the convent becomes understood by the nuns to be a natural part of the life course, not one to be feared or avoided. Anna I. Corwin shows readers how Catholic nuns create a cultural community that provides a model for how to grow old, decline, and die that is both embedded in American culture and quite distinct from other American models.
