But He who endows gives to the answering patriotism, courage and trust, the benefit Of providences more Clear and startling in their tracings back to Himself, during such a war, than can be found in times Of peace. Hence the history Of our first American Revolution is a clear chapter Of God's providential hand in war. The young Sampson Of nations came down to the red fields of carnage, and with the inspiration which came with the world's new endowment upon him, he rent the lion as if it had been a kid.
