After joining the staff of the Burgholzli Mental Hospital in 1900, Jung developed and applied the word-association tests for studying normal and abnormal psychology. The studies have remained a significant phase in the development of Jung's conceptions and an important contribution to diagnostic psychology and psychiatry. Between 1904 and 1907 he published nine studies on the tests. These studies, together with two lectures on the association method given in 1909 at Clark University and three articles on psychophysical researches from American and English journals in 1907-1908, compose this volume. Jung's association studies showed the definite influence of Bleuler and also of Freud, with whom he worked closely for several years. With this volume, the Collected Works are complete except for the Miscellany, Bibliography and Index volumes.

Benjamin Thompson (later Count Rumford) aimed by his inventions and scientific research to increase the degree of comfort in daily life. His goals were practical and his contributions to our knowledge of the nature of heat proved extremely valuable. Between 1870 and 1875, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Boston published all of Rumford's papers that the Academy committee was able to find. The Academy edition, however, has long been out of print and practically unavailable. Here Sanborn Brown has rearranged the papers according to subject matter. Volume I contains Rumford's papers on the nature of heat; the second covers its practical applications. Like his countryman and contemporary Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Thompson (later Count Rumford) aimed by his inventions and scientific research to increase the degree of comfort in daily life. During the fourteen years spent in Munich, he made important reforms in the city's public service and social welfare institutions; he also introduced improvements in the hospitals and workhouses in Ireland, England, and Italy. Rumford's contributions to our knowledge of the nature of heat were as valuable as Franklin's to our knowledge of electricity. Volume I of this edition of Rumford's Works contained his papers on the nature of heat. This second volume presents Rumford's work on the practical applications of heat. Of particular interest are his papers on the propagation of heat in liquids, chimney fire-places, supplementary observations on chimney fire-places, and the management of fire and the economy of fuel. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1993, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from May 28 through December 17, 1993. During the first eight months of 1993 Brother Lee was in Anaheim, California. At the beginning of September he visited Seattle, Washington, for one week, after which he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into nine sections, as follows: 1. Seven messages given in Anaheim, California, on May 28 through 30. These messages were previously published, along with the speaking of forty-six brothers from throughout Southern California, in a book entitled 1993 Blending Conference Messages concerning the Lord's Recovery and Our Present Need and are included in this volume under the same title. Only the outlines of the conference and the portions spoken by Brother Lee are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. 2. A message given in Anaheim, California, on May 28. This message is included in this volume as chapter 1 of the previous section entitled 1993 Blending Conference Messages concerning the Lord's Recovery and Our Present Need. Portions of this message were combined with other various writings by Brother Lee concerning the Triune God, and the compilation was previously published in a book entitled The Crucial Points of the Major Items of the Lord's Recovery Today. The contents of this book are included in this volume under the same title. 3. A message given in Anaheim, California, on July 3. This message was divided into two chapters and is included in this volume under the title Remaining in Life and Keeping the One Accord. 4. Four messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 13 through 15. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Problems Causing the Turmoils in the Church Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Fifteen messages given in Anaheim, California, on August 28 through December 17. These messages were previously published in a fourteen-chapter book entitled The Spirit with Our Spirit and are included in this volume under the same title. 6. In effect Revelation and Theology is Schillebeeckx's general introduction to theology. Its fifteen chapters were originally published separately between 1954 and 1962, but the thematic collection offers a vivid picture of the theological renewal in the wake of World War II. Schillebeeckx's erudition and broad scholarly orientation are clearly demonstrated in this volume. Throughout there are pointers to the (at that time new) ecumenical approach to Scripture and tradition. The problem concerning the function of the scholastic tradition is highlighted. Although Schillebeeckx draws extensively on Thomas Aquinas's thinking, this early work already shows that he is not a (neo)Thomist in the narrow sense of the word. Unlike the single Dutch volume, the English version was published in two volumes. In the Collected works of Edward Schillebeeckx, however, here they are published together in the sequence that the author envisaged.
