The rainbow-filled, JOYOUS debut from a hugely exciting new talent. Perfect for 9+ readers and fans of Elle McNicoll, Lisa Thompson and Onjali Rauf's bestselling THE BOY AT THE BACK OF THE CLASS. My name’s Archie Albright, and I know two things for certain: 1. My mum and dad kind of hate each other, and they’re not doing a great job of pretending that they don’t anymore. 2. They’re both keeping a secret from me, but I can’t figure out what. Things aren't going great for Archie Albright. His dad's acting weird, his mum too, and all he wants is for everything to go back to normal, to three months before when his parents were happy and still lived together. When Archie sees a colourful, crumpled flyer fall out of Dad's pocket, he thinks he may have found the answer. Only problem? The answer might just lie at the end of the rainbow, an adventure away. Together with his best friends, Bell and Seb, Archie sets off on a heartwarming and unforgettable journey to try and fix his family, even if he has to break a few rules to do it... The Rainbow written by David Herbert Lawrence and has been published by Collector's Library this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Fiction categories.

D. H. Lawrence expected The Rainbow to have 'a bit of a fight' before it was accepted, but 'The fight will have to be made, that is all'. It was suppressed, just over a month after publication, in November 1915. The American publisher would make thirteen further cuts and 'dribble out' the book quietly. In 1930 the British government would again consider suppressing a new printing of The Rainbow. Professor Mark Kinkead-Weekes gives the composition history and collates the surviving states of the text to assess the damage done to Lawrence's novel, and to provide a text as close to that which the author wrote as is now possible. The final manuscript, revisions in the typescript and the first edition are recorded in full in the textual apparatus so the reader can follow the novel's development and evaluate what outside interference may have done to it. Also included are Explanatory notes to historical references and allusions, and an interior chronology of the book itself.

This is a sci-fi story set in the year of 2550, exactly 100 years after the end of World War III. There are two separate worlds on earth divided by a Laser Curtain: the Free World and the Dark Kingdom. They operate with different ideologies and social systems, as the Free World is governed by democratically-elected human beings while the Dark Kingdom is ruled by the Dark Lord and his super-intelligent robots. It entertains the readers with a heart-warming love story between two 16-year-olds, who were both born as the 1 billionth person in the two worlds. The two teenagers have been sent into the opposite world as ambassadors for one year. Readers can follow the teenagers' footsteps to find out how different these two worlds are designed and operated to choose in their mind their preferred world.Further, it intrigues the readers with a double-murder case involving the Global Leader of the Free World. For the more intellectually curious readers, it contains several discourses on issues such as War and Peace, the General Relativity of Power and the Origin of the Universe. The story begins with the Centenary Festival, which is the first time 100,000 people are gathered together to find out what has taken place behind the Laser Curtain, which segregates the two worlds.

Eva Cassidy’s story is one of the most compelling and poignant in recent music history. In this thoughtful and probing biography, Johan Bakker explores her brief performing career and the fame that only came after her death at the age of 33. A local performer, Eva Cassidy’s performance in Iceland was the closest she ever got to Europe. Yet her music has touched millions across the world. Her posthumously released albums, Imagine, Songbird, Simply Eva and Somewhere included three UK number ones have sold more than ten million copies. Interviewing Eva’s friends, colleagues and family in Washington D.C. and Maryland, Johan Bakker traces her short life, her idealism and her disillusionment with the business side of her trade.
