The ultra modern civilization has caused more pollution to human thinking. We see restlessness, anxiety, fear, worry and depression on every pallor face.Because never in human history, man has experienced so much darkness eternally in himself: in the midst of all round glow outside of him. The modern crisis is thus essentially spiritual. His heart today is crying for the truth, for light and for life. All these facts indicate that the whole of the modern world is in the anguish of a silent spiritual revolution. “In Truth; we are One, In Religion; we are Many”. There are so many religions and faiths in the world. Truth is the highest Reality and anything else is illusion. We have seen all the religions throughout the world which are derived fundamentally from the spiritual illumination of their founders, represent interpretations of the Cosmic Truth in terms of particular requirements. While their messages may be valid for all time, their scriptures are preeminently influenced by considerations of the race and epoch to which they were originally vouchsafed. We must be able to put aside all things that are not essential, so that the essential can be revealed in True form. Even religion as a tradition must be put aside, so that the Truth, the true and only true Universal religion can blossom into a beautiful flower in the garden of Universal brotherhood. It is forgotten that religion, as it is today, is itself the product of ages of change; and there is no reason why its forms should not undergo fresh changes so long as the spirit demands it. It is possible to remain faithful to the latter and yet prevent the whole spirit. If the Hindu leaders of two thousand years ago, could come on earth again after all these centuries, they would seldom find their true followers among those who have never deviated from the most literal interpretation of their views.The average mind which is untrained, undisciplined and dull in its operation, stops at the very surface of experience. It cannot penetrate the surface of the problem in order to find a solution to the problem.Such is the raw and untrained human mind. Yet same mind can be trained and disciplined and made penetrating in its power; thus we get the scientific and philosophical mind, which has disciplined itself in the systematic inquiry and investigation into the universe of sensory experience. As a result of this discipline, the mind gets the power to excise control over the sensory and motor organs of the human system which, formally was under the direct dictation of the sense-impressions and instinctual impulses. Neither the mind nor life is the original creating energy or force. It is the Mind cause of misery.
