In this book, we explore the socio-political environment that impacts international students’ employability and discuss student experiences of employability development during and after their studies. The book also aims to provide a holistic understanding of international student employability on a global scale, incorporating various higher education contexts, including the US, UK, Netherlands, Vietnam, and Japan. This book includes both conceptualizations of international students who participate in “internationalization abroad” through physically crossing the border and those who participate in “internationalization at home’’. The COVID-19 pandemic has potentially transformed international education as many international students were forced to stay in their home countries and resort to online education. The book looks into the bigger questions: How do the institutions of higher education expand programs and resources for international students and their employability? Is the internationalization at home model going to be increasingly popular in the post-pandemic world? Will employers be receptive to international graduates globally? Economic Opportunities And Outcomes Of Post Study Work Rights In Australia written by and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019 with categories.

Following the recommendations of the Knight Review in 2011, Australia introduced a more comprehensive post-study work rights (PSWR) visa program for graduating international students. Many in the international education sector would attribute Australia's recent success in higher education, at least in part, to the attractiveness the current Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485). While there are a range of reasons for why different countries have introduced post-study work rights 1 , the temporary graduate visa in Australia primarily embodies the promise of potentially meaningful and relevant employment for international students to kick start their careers upon graduation. 1 See Berquist, B., Hall, R., Morris-Lange, S., Shields, H., Stern, V., & Tran, L. T. (2019), 'Global perspectives on international student employability', International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). 2 Ibid.(Tran, 2019) 3 Ibid (Hall, 2019) The key underlying policy rationale was to implement a post-study work rights regime that would enhance the value of an educational experience in Australia's international education sector. In doing so, it would also enhance Australia's attractiveness as a study destination. The temporary graduate visa therefore creates an expectation among international students that meaningful and relevant employment awaits. [Executive summary, ed]
