(5.5 x 7.5 black and white book) སྡུག་བསྔལ་རང་རང་གྲོལ་ The Excellent Path to Perfect Liberation - A Guidance Practice (Nedren) for the Dukngal Rangdrol (Natural Liberation of Suffering) Practice of the Great Compassionate One from the Longchen Nyingtik Contains two sadhanas on Dukngal Randrol, one from His Holiness the 1st Dodrupchen, and the other from Jigme Lingpa. Dukngal Rangdrol - a sadhana of Avalokiteshvara from the Longchen Nyingtik. It is classified as a peaceful yidam practice, or as the secret guru practice from the peaceful male vidyadhara section of the cycle. You should treat this book as Dharma (the Buddha's teachings). And you should treat any form of Dharma with the most respect. Never touch it the ground, try to keep it in a high clean place, it is good to keep on your altar. After using it you can touch it to your crown to accumulate merit. To not treat Dharma with respect can create negative karma. The Venerable Lama Jigme Namgyal Rinpoche was born in Amdo, Tibet. With the help of his family he was able to study with his teachers, Rigdzin Jigme and Lama Aku Sherab throughout his childhood. His Holiness the Dalai Lama verified Rinpoche's understanding of Buddhist values like compassion and emptiness. He was exceptionally touched by his answers. His Holiness decided to build Padma Rigdzin Ling Monastery in the forest of Dharmashala, India for Rinpoche to carry out his practices and ceremonies.

An insightful collection of teachings about death and dying to help face life's greatest mystery calmly and with equanimity. Lifetimes of effort go into organizing, designing, and structuring every aspect of our lives, but how many people are willing to contemplate the inevitability of death? Although dying is an essential part of life, it is an uncomfortable topic that most people avoid. With no idea what will happen when we die and a strong desire to sidestep the conversation, we make all kinds of assumptions. Living Is Dying collects teachings about death and the bardos that have been passed down through a long lineage of brilliant Buddhist masters, each of whom went to great lengths to examine the process in minute detail. Renowned author and teacher Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse responds to the most common questions he's been asked about death and dying--exploring how one prepares for death, what to say to a loved one who is dying, and prayers and practices to use as a handhold when approaching the unknown territory of death. Whether you are facing death today or decades from now, preparing for it can help to allay your worst fears and help you appreciate what it means to be truly alive.

Here is a practical Buddhist guidebook that offers techniques for developing a truly compassionate heart in the midst of everyday life. For centuries, Tibetans have used fifty-nine pithy slogans—such as "A joyous state of mind is a constant support" and "Don't talk about others' shortcomings"—as a means to awaken kindness, gentleness, and compassion. While Tibetan Buddhists have long valued these slogans, recently they have become popular in the West due to such books as Start Where You Are by Pema Chödrön and Training the Mind by Chögyam Trungpa. This edition of The Great Path of Awakening contains an accessible, newly revised translation of the slogans from the famous text The Seven Points of Mind Training . It also includes illuminating commentary from Jamgon Kongtrul that provides further instruction on how to meet every situation with intelligence and an open heart.

A perfect companion to the well-known Tibetan Book of the Dead. In life and in death, in meditation and in sleep, every transitional stage of consciousness, or bardo, provides an opportunity to overcome limitations, frustrations, and fears. The profound teachings in this book provide the under- standing and instruction necessary to turn every phase of life into an opportunity for uncontrived, natural liberation. Like the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Natural Liberation is a terma, a "hidden treasure" attributed to the eighth-century master Padmasambhava. Gyatrul Rinpoche's lucid commentary accompanies the text, illuminating the path of awakening to the point of full enlightenment. Natural Liberation is an essential contribution to the library of both scholars and practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism.

A beautiful, evocative, and eminently useful array of texts sharing the foundational practices from Jigme Lingpa's Heart Essence transmission. These foundational practices have for over three centuries been one of the most widely practiced and beloved gateways to Dzogchen in Tibet. Like most Tibetan practices, these are chanted in solitary practice or in groups, their words supporting the vision, emotion, and understanding being cultivated. This compilation of texts includes the story, history, music, and commentaries to help practitioners more fully understand the elements of the practice. A link to downloadable audio of the chants in English is included, so that practitioners can absorb the meaning while also following along with the chants written in English and Tibetan.

For most people ego is the most important thing in the world, so it's imperative to understand its nature. A thorough investigation reveals it to be a mere conceptual idea that exists only as a thought whose nature is constant change. When ego-clinging is loosened there is a natural openness, freedom, and relaxation that allows love and compassion to arise. As attachment is removed, love and compassion radiate out very easily, without effort.Using analytic meditation to look closely at ego-clinging is so important because it establishes a foundation upon which there can be proper development. Any progress made without this foundation will eventually collapse. The definitive understanding established by analytic meditation is to not be attached to any aspect of reality. Arriving at the state of awareness that is beyond attachment causes us to perceive everything as being in transit, moving, changing, and only manifestingon a temporary basis. Relaxing in the momentary manifestation ofphenomena is meditation. To experience all of samsara in its momentary state makes our mind very strong and courageous, so it can approach any situation fearlessly.
