A questionnaire was developed from the interviews to seek commonalties among caregivers on a greater scale. Primary caregivers stated needs, struggles, and satisfactions in caring for persons with Alzheimer's and suggested what would help them most in providing the best possible care. Results from this study provide 1) a brief history and definition of Alzheimer's Disease, 2) stages of caregiving in relation to the patient's status, 3) how Alzheimer's impacts primary caregivers needs, struggles, satisfactions, and meaning-making, and 4) how practitioners from diverse fields can best help primary caregivers.
