The Future of The Expanding Cosmos is the twenty-third instalment in the Little Blue Book Series and comprises of discourse thirty-nine of the Monodoxy which is itself the first disquisition of the Omnidoxy, the founding treatise of Astronism. This single-discourse publication introduces the discipline of cosmontology known as omnology which deals with all theories, concepts, and beliefs regarding the nature, form, purpose, and eventualities of the expansion of The Cosmos. The Little Blue Book Series was created and first published by Cometan himself as a way to simplify and commercialise the immensity of the two million word length of the Omnidoxy into smaller, more bite-size publications. A successful series from its very first published entry, the Little Blue Book Series has gone on to become a symbol of Astronist commercial literature and a way for Cometan’s words to reach readers of all ages and abilities who remain daunted by the beauty and yet the sheer extensiveness of the Omnidoxy as the longest religious text in history.

Constructing the Expanding Universe provides students with a comprehensive exploration of the history of the evolving cosmos. In the text, the universe is seen as both physically and intellectually expanding as its physical characteristics evolve and our knowledge of the cosmos grows. It introduces students to fundamental scientific concepts that nurture the scientist in each and every reader. Chapter 1 helps students understand how astronomical objects are observed and identified. The focus is on the basic patterns in nature, such as daily and seasonal motion of celestial bodies visible to the naked eye. Chapter 2 explores the history of astronomy up to the scientific revolution, including laws and theories developed by the ancient Greeks, Copernicus, and Newton. Chapter 3 follows the development of the modern sciences in the centuries between Newton and Einstein. Chapter 4 examines the structure of the solar system and explains the physical properties of planets, moons, rings, asteroids, and comets. The chronology of astronomy and scientific thinking continues in Chapter 5 with a short description of the insights of modern physics which lead to a decoding of the stellar lifecycle. The last chapter looks at the cosmos at the grandest scales. From our own Milky Way, the exploration continues to other galaxies, clusters and superclusters of galaxies, and finally to the cosmos as a whole. The book closes with a section on cosmology and the latest experimental results and speculations about how the universe began and how it will develop in the future. Constructing the Expanding Universe is suitable for introductory courses in astronomy and cosmology. It can also be used for courses with an emphasis on the expansion of the universe, the development of scientific thought and methodology, or the history of science and astronomy. Uwe Trittmann earned his Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics from the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg, Germany. He is an associate professor of physics at Otterbein University, where he teaches the full gamut of courses in physics, from introductory classes to quantum mechanics and astronomy. As the resident astronomer at Otterbein University, he is the director of the Weitkamp Observatory.

A cultural philosopher and an astrophysicist attempt to decipher how we fit into the universe, and the impact our placement has on us. After a four-century rupture between science and the questions of value and meaning, this groundbreaking book presents an explosive and potentially life-altering idea: if the world could agree on a shared creation story based on modern cosmology and biology—a story that has just become available—it would redefine our relationship with Planet Earth and benefit all of humanity, now and into the distant future. Written in eloquent, accessible prose and illustrated in magnificent color throughout, including images from innovative simulations of the evolving universe, this book brings the new scientific picture of the universe to life. It interprets what our human place in the cosmos may mean for us and our descendants. It offers unique insights into the potential use of this newfound knowledge to find solutions to seemingly intractable global problems such as climate change and unsustainable growth. And it explains why we need to “think cosmically, act globally” if we're going to have a long-term, prosperous future on Earth. “Should be read by anyone, not just scientists, who worry about the human condition.”—Deepak Chopra, The Huffington Post “A prophetic book. Its message ranks right up there with those of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Joel. Like the prophets, it is at times poetic, demanding, grounded, soaring, empowering, and always awe-inspiring.”—Matthew Fox, Tikkun “The ideas and images are fascinating and certainly contribute to a sense of the profound stakes involved in what we’re doing to the planet and ourselves.”—William Kowinski, North Coast Journal

Will our universe continue to expand 100 billion years from now? Does human life and all intelligence inevitably come to an end as the universe evolves? Could our present space be converted catastrophically in to a new kind of space governed by different physical laws? Can we construct a theology of the future universe? Would the continuation of the universe for eternity be a good thing? The Far-Future Universe presents eighteen provocative essays offering speculations on various scenarios for the future, from the perspectives of cosmology, physics, biology, humanity and theology. Other contributors consider global time, artificial intelligence, religious ideas about the end of the world, and the nature of existence. Stimulating, challenging and exciting, these visions of the far future are a starting point for further reflection and speculation.

God And The Multiverse written by Victor J. Stenger and has been published by Prometheus Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-09 with Science categories.

Cosmologists have reasons to believe that the vast universe in which we live is just one of an endless number of other universes within a multiverse—a mind-boggling array that may extend indefinitely in space and endlessly in both the past and the future. Victor Stenger reviews the key developments in the history of science that led to the current consensus view of astrophysicists, taking pains to explain essential concepts and discoveries in accessible terminology. The author shows that science’s emerging understanding of the multiverse—consisting of trillions upon trillions of galaxies—is fully explicable in naturalistic terms with no need for supernatural forces to explain its origin or ongoing existence. How can conceptions of God, traditional or otherwise, be squared with this new worldview? The author shows how long-held beliefs will need to undergo major revision or otherwise face eventual extinction.

Bridging astronomy and physics, cosmology seeks to examine the nature of the universe as a whole. Scientific investigation of cosmology began in ancient times and progressed rapidly after the Scientific Revolution, which produced the discovery of gravity and the heliocentric model of Copernicus. This volume examines the historical developments in the field of cosmology, the evidence supporting the Big Bang theory, and the future implications of dark matter and an expanding universe. Readers will also be introduced to the various thinkers who helped advance study of this endlessly fascinating field.

How did the universe begin? Where do galaxies come from? Where do the material particles we are made of come from? Today we have only provisional answers to such questions, but this will improve dramatically over the next ten years, predicts astronomer Gribbin. He focuses on what we think we know about ten issues and explains how cutting-edge research may yield solutions in the very near future. He explores ideas concerning the creation of the universe, the possibility of other forms of life, and the fate of the expanding cosmos. He examines "theories of everything," including grand unified theories and string theory, and he discusses the Big Bang theory, the origin of structure and patterns of matter in the galaxies, dark mass and dark energy, the future of Earth and the Sun, and the possibility that the universe might expand forever.--From publisher description.
