House cats are known to be aloof, but “cat-titude” reaches new heights in Get Fuzzy, the bitingly hilarious comic strip from cartoonist Darby Conley. Get Fuzzy is a wry portrait of single life, with pets. At the center of this warm and fuzzy romp is Rob Wilco, a single, mild-mannered ad executive and guardian of anthropomorphic scamps Bucky and Satchel. Bucky is a temperamental cat who clearly wears the pants in this eccentric household. Satchel is a gentle pooch who tries to remain neutral, but frequently ends up on the receiving end of Bucky's mischief. Together, this unlikely trio endures all the trials and tribulations of a typical family...more or less. The National Cartoonists Society honored Get Fuzzy with a Reuben division award, naming it the Best Newspaper Comic Strip of 2002.

sections dealing with fuzzy functions and fuzzy random functions are certain to be of special interest. The reader is expected to be in command of the knowledge gained in a basic university mathematics course, with the inclusion of stochastic elements. A specification of uncertainty in any particular case is often difficult. For this reason Chaps. 3 and 4 are devoted solely to this problem. The derivation of fuzzy variables for representing informal and lexical uncertainty reflects the subjective assessment of objective conditions in the form of a membership function. Techniques for modeling fuzzy random variables are presented for data that simultaneously exhibit stochastic and nonstochastic properties. The application of fuzzy randomness is demonstrated in three fields of civil engineering and computational mechanics: structural analysis, safety assessment, and design. The methods of fuzzy structural analysis and fuzzy probabilistic structural analysis developed in Chap. 5 are applicable without restriction to arbitrary geometrically and physically nonlinear problems. The most important forms of the latter are the Fuzzy Finite Element Method (FFEM) and the Fuzzy Stochastic Finite Element Method (FSFEM).

Concepts Of Soft Computing written by Snehashish Chakraverty and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-04-30 with Computers categories.

This book discusses soft computing, which provides an efficient platform to deal with imprecision, uncertainty, vagueness and approximation in order to attain robustness and reliable computing. It explores two major concepts of soft computing: fuzzy set theory and neural networks, which relate to uncertainty handling and machine learning techniques respectively. Generally, fuzzy sets are considered as vague or uncertain sets having membership function lying between 0 and 1, and ANN is a type of artificial intelligence that attempts to imitate the way a human brain works by configuring specific applications, for instance pattern recognition or data classification, through learning processes. The book also presents C/MATLAB programming codes related to the basics of fuzzy set, interval arithmetic and ANN in a concise, practical and adaptable manner along, with simple examples and self-validation unsolved practice questions in few cases

Fuzzy Differential Equations In Various Approaches written by Luciana Takata Gomes and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-09-07 with Mathematics categories.

This book may be used as reference for graduate students interested in fuzzy differential equations and researchers working in fuzzy sets and systems, dynamical systems, uncertainty analysis, and applications of uncertain dynamical systems. Beginning with a historical overview and introduction to fundamental notions of fuzzy sets, including different possibilities of fuzzy differentiation and metric spaces, this book moves on to an overview of fuzzy calculus thorough exposition and comparison of different approaches. Innovative theories of fuzzy calculus and fuzzy differential equations using fuzzy bunches of functions are introduced and explored. Launching with a brief review of essential theories, this book investigates both well-known and novel approaches in this field; such as the Hukuhara differentiability and its generalizations as well as differential inclusions and Zadeh’s extension. Through a unique analysis, results of all these theories are examined and compared.

Computational Methods In Stochastic Dynamics written by Manolis Papadrakakis and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-03 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The considerable influence of inherent uncertainties on structural behavior has led the engineering community to recognize the importance of a stochastic approach to structural problems. Issues related to uncertainty quantification and its influence on the reliability of the computational models are continuously gaining in significance. In particular, the problems of dynamic response analysis and reliability assessment of structures with uncertain system and excitation parameters have been the subject of continuous research over the last two decades as a result of the increasing availability of powerful computing resources and technology. This book is a follow up of a previous book with the same subject (ISBN 978-90-481-9986-0) and focuses on advanced computational methods and software tools which can highly assist in tackling complex problems in stochastic dynamic/seismic analysis and design of structures. The selected chapters are authored by some of the most active scholars in their respective areas and represent some of the most recent developments in this field. The book consists of 21 chapters which can be grouped into several thematic topics including dynamic analysis of stochastic systems, reliability-based design, structural control and health monitoring, model updating, system identification, wave propagation in random media, seismic fragility analysis and damage assessment. This edited book is primarily intended for researchers and post-graduate students who are familiar with the fundamentals and wish to study or to advance the state of the art on a particular topic in the field of computational stochastic structural dynamics. Nevertheless, practicing engineers could benefit as well from it as most code provisions tend to incorporate probabilistic concepts in the analysis and design of structures.

First Course On Fuzzy Theory And Applications written by Kwang Hyung Lee and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-11-30 with Computers categories.

Fuzzy theory has become a subject that generates much interest among the courses for graduate students. However, it was not easy to find a suitable textbook to use in the introductory course and to recommend to the students who want to self-study. The main purpose of this book is just to meet that need. The author has given lectures on the fuzzy theory and its applications for ten years and continuously developed lecture notes on the subject. This book is a publication of the modification and summary of the lecture notes. The fundamental idea of the book is to provide basic and concrete concepts of the fuzzy theory and its applications, and thus the author focused on easy illustrations of the basic concepts. There are numerous examples and figures to help readers to understand and also added exercises at the end of each chapter. This book consists of two parts: a theory part and an application part. The first part (theory part) includes chapters from 1 to 8. Chapters 1 and 2 introduce basic concepts of fuzzy sets and operations, and Chapters 3 and 4 deal with the multi-dimensional fuzzy sets. Chapters 5 and 6 are extensions of the fuzzy theory to the number and function, and Chapters 7 and 8 are developments of fuzzy properties on the probability and logic theories.
