The rich lessons of the Bible can be your leadership guidebook. Successful leaders don't rely solely on natural charisma and organizational authority as their tickets to success. Successful leadership is a learned art form and a developed discipline. You can master the art of leadership by examining the pitfalls and achievements of past leaders and penetrating the stories of our cultural and religious heritage. The Bible is the ultimate resource for learning by example: its stories of family relationships, political beginnings and even divine encounters provide valuable lessons about leading effectively. In this empowering guidebook, Nathan Laufer walks you through the stories at the very beginning of the Bible to examine the portraits of leadership success--and failure--they contain. He reveals the life-affirming values that the Bible uses to measure its leaders beginning in the Garden of Eden; analyzes the ups and downs in Abraham's, and later Joseph's, leadership journeys; and scrutinizes the many challenges faced by Moses--and God--in the books of Exodus and Numbers. Laufer draws out from Bible stories the lessons we can use every day--lessons not only of exemplary leadership, but also of failing to lead, leading with no direction and leading in the wrong direction or to a destructive destination. Through Laufer's interpretive lenses, these ancient stories come alive to inform and inspire our leadership today and offer us direction for the future. "Nathan Laufer helps us see the stories of the Bible] in new ways, he turns them into universal paradigms that relate to situations we all face every day, and he distills his insights into practical and powerful guidelines. There is no algorithm for leadership, no cookbook recipe, but it is hard to imagine a leader at any level of an enterprise whose capabilities will not be enhanced by studying this book." --from the Preface by Dr. Michael Hammer

Through careful examination of original intent, Richard Allen silences the age-old argument of nature versus nurture. He concludes leaders are not born! Leaders are not made! Leaders are created-in God's image that is. The capacity for great leadership is an inherent, created aptitude within each of us. Not only did God equip us to lead, He also commands us to lead. The Genesis Principle of Leadership reminds us of our unique personhood, designed specifically for effective leadership and aids in reclaiming and cultivating this created capacity. Don't be fooled! You do have the right stuff for leadership! You can be the leader God has called you to be!

The Genesis of Leadership “The Beginning” is the first book of the Leadership Principles and Proverbs Series. Principles and proverbs are very closely related, in that they both express truth. Principles are the essential truths and doctrines used to govern life. Proverbs are sayings that express a truth and often offer advice. This series offers many principles and proverbs that are meant to produce wisdom, knowledge, and understanding regarding some of the fundamental truths of leadership. People spend a vast amount of time reading about and studying the attributes of great world leaders, successful entrepreneurs, military leaders, and corporate executives. It is interesting and informative to study how these people accomplished great things, but I firmly believe that the Bible contains the greatest truths known to mankind. If you want to tap into the divine order of God, you must first know and understand Him, His Word, His will, and His ways. In the Book of Genesis, the book of beginnings, we find the origin of leadership. It is the first documented record of a leader functioning in leadership principles. God revealed powerful leadership principles to us in His Word and by His actions. There is no better example to follow!

The Genesis Of Ethical Leadership written by Guy Forsyth and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-21 with Business & Economics categories.

The book has resulted from research into the area of how a person's leadership approach develops. We still do not know why a person displays a particular leadership approach, that is, why some leaders are perceived as "good" (ethical, motivational etc) and others "bad" (oppressive, dictatorial etc). While there are numerous theories and extensive research in the leadership field that describe leadership there has been very few, if any, to suggest how a person's leadership approach forms. This book identifies what is meant by "leadership approach" and the different forms it can take. It then explores the basis of what constitutes ethical leadership. In order to understand what we mean by good, namely ethical leadership the book investigates the philosophical basis of what we mean by good in a normative sense. If a leader is regarded as ethical then they must conform to the requirements of what we understand as good both in terms of their attitude towards followers and other stakeholders and in terms of their legacy. In order to demonstrate the formation of a persons leadership approach the author illustrates the background and influences of four notably great leaders from the past two centuries and asks whether these leaders can, by reference to leadership, be considered great and what we mean by being a great leader. Is a great leader a good leader and would they be regarded as ethical in the true sense of the term? The research into leadership suggests that certain environmental influences in youth operate to determine what type of leadership approach will emerge. By investigating the influence of societal, political, ethical and religious factors that act on a person in their early life it can be demonstrated that such contribute to the development of a person's worldview. Moreover, how these philosophical influences act upon a person not only informs their worldview but their leadership approach. In order to demonstrate the proposed development of a persons leadership approach the book looks at four notably great leaders from the eighteenth and twentieth centuries - Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington, Charles de Gaulle and Dwight Eisenhower. These leaders are all in the category known as soldier statesmen and were chosen specifically because of their successful leadership across two different domains - military and political. The conclusion clarifies what we mean by a good leader and whether we should be assessing leadership from an ethical perspective rather than the instrumental perspective of leadership effectiveness that is the generally accepted means used to assess leadership efficacy.

Pride And Purpose written by Priya Somaiya and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-18 with Business & Economics categories.

Our mental paradigm about leadership must shift, argues author Priya Somaiya, and Pride and Purpose achieves just that. It is a fascinating compilation of experiences and stories, and her tryst with leaders and leadership from all walks of life. Not all of leadership is about positional power and control. Rather, most of it silently and sensitively engages with building and transforming lives, organisations and society. The complex intersection and convergence of diverse personalities, skills, styles and qualities in leaders presented in various chapters of the book appear to impact human experiences in similar and yet diverse ways. Leaders influence thought and perception, aspiration and motivation. They earn respect and trust. They create resolute will and discipline and demonstrate working through failure and pain. Leaders interface hugely with time and the elusive framework of the future. They role model risk-taking and a lasting passion for learning. Dr Somaiya's work weaves all these dimensions together in a converging mosaic around leadership behaviours, which appear to strengthen the significantly important pillars around which all leadership devolves-the feeling of pride and the anchoring of purpose in life.

Change the Way You Think about Leadership At the age of thirty-three, Dr. Albert Mohler became the youngest president in the 164-year history of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was the driving force behind the school's transformation into a thriving institution with an international reputation characterized by a passionate conviction for truth. In the process he became one of the most important and prominent Christian voices in contemporary culture. What will it take to transform your leadership? Effective leaders need more than administrative skills and vision. They need to be able to change the hearts and minds of those they lead. Leadership like this requires passionate beliefs that can stand up to pressure from without and within. In this updated edition Dr. Mohler has added a new introduction and conclusion based on an additional 10 years of leadership. He has also completely rewritten the chapter "The Digital Leader."
