A journey of wonders and hazards. THE SCHOLAR Time is running out for the world of Genoa and its magical peoples. A wizard’s past mistake must now be set right if Genoa is to survive the battle that is to come. Anna is clearly different from others. With obvious physical differences and powerful abilities, she’s never quite fit in… anywhere. Having no knowledge of her parents, she sets out to discover her true origin. On the run for most of her life, she’s become a master at eluding capture, even a little cocky you might say. When a sticky situation forces her hand, she hitches a ride with a wizard, who whisks her away to another world, where, according to him, she’d been exiled from as a child. This new magical place seems oddly familiar as Anna discovers powerful enemies and treasured allies on her quest for answers. The dangerous journey thrusts her headlong into the arms of Kriston, who finds himself caught between sworn-duty and insatiable curiosity. THE WARRIOR Dragon-warrior, Té has spent her life hiding from the power-hungry king. Raised by her wizard in the native ways of warrior combat and dragon riding, Té must now put her skills to the test, joining forces with Kriston to protect Anna as they travel to the safety of Valorna where the queen awaits their arrival THE QUEEN With the brutal murder of her parents, Tress assumes the immense responsibility of unifying Genoa. Ruling a vast kingdom of wizards, sorcerers, and mystical creatures, she fights to rid Genoa of its tyrant, Gillard. Surrounded by spies and the threat of war, Genoa’s only hope of survival lies in Tress’s long-awaited reunion with the fearless dragon warrior and the prized scholar in her protection.

The Colonies Of Genoa In The Black Sea Region written by Evgeny Khvalkov and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-28 with History categories.

This book focuses on the network of the Genoese colonies in the Black Sea area and their diverse multi-ethnic societies. It raises the problems of continuity of the colonial patterns, reveals the importance of the formation of the late medieval / early modern colonialism, the urban demography, and the functioning of the polyethnic entangled society of Caffa in its interaction with the outer world. It offers a novel interpretation of the functioning of this late medieval colonial polyethnic society and rejects the widely accepted narrative portraying the whole history of Caffa of the fifteenth century as a period of constant decline and depopulation.

The History of the Crusades in 3 volumes is a historical work by French historian Joseph François Michaud which provides a comprehensive look at the Crusades, including political and military battles in Europe, North Africa, and Asia Minor. The Crusades were a series of religious wars initiated, supported and sometimes directed by the Latin Church in the medieval period, especially the campaigns between 1096 and 1271 in the Eastern Mediterranean aimed at recovering the Holy Land from Islamic rule. Michaud expands the term of Crusades, including in his work the wars against Turks in Europe in 13th, 14th, and 15th century, concluding with his reflections on the state of Europe, on the various classes of society, during and after the crusades.

Caffaro Genoa And The Twelfth Century Crusades written by Martin Hall and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-15 with History categories.

This volume provides the first comprehensive English translation, with a substantial introduction and notes, of the writings of Caffaro of Genoa, as well as related texts and documents on Genoa and the crusades. The majority of early crusading historiography is from a northern European and clerical perspective. Here is a very different voice, one with a more secular, Mediterranean tone. To see the similarities and differences with the mainstream sources offers an exciting new dimension to our understanding of the reception of crusading ideas in the Mediterranean and, given Genoa’s prominence in the commercial world, can help to illuminate the complex and controversial relationship between holy war and financial gain. Caffaro’s main composition, the ’Annals’ of Genoa, began with the First Crusade and extended down to 1163. It also covers the city’s dealings with the Papacy, the German Empire, Sicily, Muslim Spain, and Pisa, as well as the development of Genoa itself. Sections from Caffaro’s continuators take the story down to the Third Crusade. Caffaro’s two other texts are exclusively about the crusades: ’The Liberation of the Cities of the East’ and ’The Capture of Almería and Tortosa’, while associated with him but of a later date is the ’Short History of Jerusalem’. Alongside these narratives are a number of charters and letters that relate to, and complement, the main texts. These relate to matters such as Genoese privileges in the Holy Land and form a valuable resource in their own right. Placed alongside Caffaro’s narratives they can show the blend of commercial energy, civic pride and religious conviction that were the basis of Genoese activity in the complex world of the medieval Mediterranean.
