Girls Autobiography Media written by Emma Maguire and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-04-05 with Literary Criticism categories.

This book investigates how girls’ automedial selves are constituted and consumed as literary or media products in a digital landscape dominated by intimate, though quite public, modes of self-disclosure and pervaded by broader practices of self-branding. In thinking about how girlhood as a potentially vulnerable subject position circulates as a commodity, Girls, Autobiography, Media argues that by using digital technologies to write themselves into culture, girls and young women are staking a claim on public space and asserting the right to create and distribute their own representations of girlhood. Their texts—in the form of blogs, vlogs, photo-sharing platforms, online diaries and fangirl identities—show how they navigate the sometimes hostile conditions of online spaces in order to become narrators of their own lives and stories. By examining case studies across different digital forms of self-presentation by girls and young women, this book considers how mediation and autobiographical practices are deeply interlinked, and it highlights the significant contribution girls and young women have made to contemporary digital forms of life narrative.

Alisha Dainton has severe epilepsy, so she's used to having seizures. Sometimes she even has weird visions and hears strange noises. After a particularly bad episode on holiday in Cyprus, what she sees and hears makes her think she's going mad: who is the beautiful girl with the see-through eyes, multi-coloured hair and rainbow and the half-woman, half-bird creature singing by the hotel pool, and just why has she been chosen to go back in time to ancient Sparta to help save a princess called Helen? Either Ali is having some sort of bizarre dream, or she's about to have an amazing adventure that might change the entire story of the Trojan War.

The people in the story are Hebrew and they live on Love Boot Island. They make their living by manufacturing boots from the skins of animals and other materials. They called the boots 'Love Boots' and they worked night and day making them. The symbol of the love boot, a small pink heart, was placed at the top on the outside of each boot. The boots were shipped to all parts of the world, and the people bought and loved them because of their design, durability, comfort and colors. Males and females of all ages wore their boots to parties, school, and work. For whatever the occasion, there were boots. One day it quit raining. Days passed, and still there wasn't any rain. There was no water for the gardens and they dried up. The fresh green grass dried up and the land turned all brown. The trees did not have leaves on them anymore. Where the creeks and rivers once flowed, there was dried cracked mud. Everything was a sad sight because there wasn't any more water. The people were desperate as they could not work and eat any more. Mommies and daddies went to the grocery store, but there was no more food on the shelves or in the land and the people were hungry, as the 'Great Famine' covered the land. In order to save their 777 famine babies, read the story to find out what the Hebrew people did. This is a family story and third graders and over will enjoy the reading.
