The Gospels announce, "the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" (Mk 1,1). Jesus' birth itself is "good news of great joy to all the people"(Lk 2,10-11). The central message of Jesus' preaching, teaching and healing is the arrival of the reign of God (Mt 9,35; 11,5).
