If you were to tell any Christian that love is important to the Gospel, it would seem like an obvious statement. Popular verses such as John 3:16 would come to mind. Even though the connection between the Gospel and love is plain for all to see, just how intertwined they are is often obscure to most. This is commonly due to our adoption of the World's definition of love, rather than the Biblical definition. Throughout the pages of this book, you will discover the truth and depths of God's love toward us, and what that looks like for us. You will discover how God's love is both the crux of the Gospel, and the defining characteristic of our faith. You will better understand the Gospel of Faith through Love. This Christian book was written with the express intent to help believers and unbelievers alike better understand the Gospel. Regardless of whether you are new to the faith, a seasoned Christian or a theologian, there is just something about the love of God that is both universally understood, and yet misunderstood simultaneously. For many, talking about the love of God seems like a cliche topic, and yet when faced with being able to biblically define love, many stumble in their response. Most frequently, the way in which the World defines love will slip into their definition. Love is far more than just a reason for Christ's greatest act of compassion and mercy, but it was literally the center of His being. His purpose and mission were not only to save us through His greatest act of love, but His very life was the example of love for us to follow. It was the very command that He left us with: "to love others as I have loved you." - John 15:12. Christians often understand the importance of faith, but frequently miss just how intertwined faith and love are. Christ's life demonstrated not just the importance of faith and love, but how the two are reciprocal. Through the pages of this book of faith and love, believers will understand truths that they didn't realize they already knew. Why? Because it is truths the Holy Spirit has been speaking since the beginning. It's the message that was intertwined throughout the entirety of the Bible. It's that which Christ lived and taught. It's the message that every New Testament writer emphasized even when it wasn't the purpose of that particular writing. It's the part of the Gospel that every genuine believer already knows, but so frequently gets lost in the various doctrines and rituals that man has layered on the faith. It's the very thing that the spiritually blind and deaf could not understand because their hearts were hardened in their own pride. The selfless biblical love that Christ embodied, is our example. Some of the various topics covered in this book include: - A concise articulation of the Gospel - Defining biblical love through use of scripture. - The gospel and love's connection from the Old Testament to the New Testament - Examples of the ways love is manifested through humility, forgiveness and service. - Love's antithesis, a selfish and prideful heart - The receiving and work of the Holy Spirit - Understanding and defeating sin at the source - A deeper understanding of God's love and common misconceptions - A warning against Apostasy and understanding what that is

God came in the flesh to show us what love looks like. To truly see the dynamics of this love, we must take a close look at Jesus's relationships while he was here on earth. How he loved then is how he loves now, and how he loves now is how we as believers are to love. No Greater Love is a study of Jesus's interactions with people throughout the book of John, including Nicodemus, the woman at the well, and even the Pharisees. What did this love look like in action, especially with those who are hard to love? As it turns out, he didn't love people because they deserved it; he loved them because he is love. With the great tragedies in our culture today there is a need for this "Jesus love" that's available to all believers. May this book help you better know his love for you--which, in the end, will lead you to becoming more like him.

I call faith, love, and the word my three musketeers. Our confidence and assurance is knowing we can always come to God by faith through Christ Jesus. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. The ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ is that of love, mercy, and being compassionate to all that came seeking Him. Love is what the kingdom of God is based upon. We can never move mountains unless we have love in our hearts and unless there is an overflow of love in us. The word is Spirit and those who live in the Spirit receive the word and they rejoice. Just like the brain power of the human body so too is the word of God. Without the brain, there is no life. The body is dead. Faith, Love, and Word is a book about the Lord Jesus expounding on His word. May God through Christ Jesus open the eyes of our understanding and quicken our spirit to receive His word in Jesuss mighty name we pray. Amen.

A Bible based book of love. What is love and how do we walk in it with others? Many questions can be applied to the word love, most of the time we associate love with lust. Love has nothing to do with perversion or animosity or having to have our own way. Love promotes the ability to have a true relationship with God and with other people. When faith is applied with love we have a new avenue which can envelop our need to seek the Lord and to do His will. Faith is the substance we base our relationship with the Lord on. We need faith to be born again and to grow in wisdom and knowledge. As we grow in the Lord our love will start growing as well. Learning the real meaning of love enables us to draw closer to God through Jesus. It opens our ability to have the Holy Spirit fill us on a daily basis. The love God has for us is wider and deeper than anything we can imagine or conceive. We are under the new commandment to walk in His love which completely surrounds and engulfs our spirits giving us His power and ability to set the captives free that are held in bondage to sin. I pray the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and ears to His love and the true meaning and understanding of how great a love He has bestowed upon us. The cost of love was paid by God the Father through His only Son Jesus Christ. We need to understand the cost and ratification which the Father accomplished for man by His Son. Man could not stand in the grace of the Father because of the sin nature we inherited through Adam. The immeasurable love God has freely given to man produces righteousness. We are able to stand in God's presence clean and holy, sanctified redeemed by the love of His Son's work upon the cross. The love God fills us with conquerors all and equips us to do the work He called us to do. The greatest commandment is to be covered with His love allowing the Holy Spirit to shine His love through us while revealing Jesus to the lost.

Living In Love And Faith written by The Church of England and has been published by Church House Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-09 with Religion categories.

Issues of gender and sexuality are intrinsic to people’s experience: their sense of identity, their lives and the loving relationships that shape and sustain them. The life and mission of the Church of England – and of the worldwide Anglican Communion – are affected by the deep, and sometimes painful, disagreements about these matters, divisions brought into sharper focus because of society’s changing perspectives and practices, especially in relation to LGTBI+ people. Living in Love and Faith sets out to inspire people to think more deeply both about what it means to be human, and to live in love and faith with one another. It tackles the tough questions and the divisions among Christians about what it means to be holy in a society in which understandings and practices of gender, sexuality and marriage continue to change. Commissioned and led by the Bishops of the Church of England, the Living in Love and Faith project has involved many people across the Church and beyond, bringing together a great diversity and depth of expertise, conviction and experience to explore these matters by studying what the Bible, theology, history and the social and biological sciences have to say. After a Foreword from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, the book opens with an invitation from the Bishops of the Church of England to embark on a learning journey in five parts: Part One sets current questions about human identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage in the context of God’s gift of life. Part Two takes a careful and dispassionate look at what is happening in the world with regard to identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage. Part Three explores current Christian thinking and discussions about human identity, sexuality, and marriage. In the light of the good news of Jesus Christ, how do Christians understand and respond to the trends observed in Part Two? Part Four considers what it means for us as individuals and as a church to be Christ-like when it comes to matters of identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage. Part Five invites the reader into a conversation between some of the people who have been involved in writing this book who, having engaged with and written Parts One to Four, nevertheless come to different conclusions. Amid the biblical, theological, historical and scientific exploration, each part includes Encounters with real, contemporary disciples of Christ whose stories raise questions which ask us to discern where God is active in human lives. The book ends with an appeal from the Bishops to join them in a period of discernment and decision-making following the publication of Living in Love and Faith. The Living in Love and Faith book is accompanied by a range of free digital resources including films, podcasts and an online library, together with Living in Love and Faith: The Course, a 5-session course which is designed to help local groups engage with the resources, also published by Church House Publishing.

Love Is His Meaning written by Keith Ward and has been published by SPCK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-20 with Religion categories.

Jesus’ teaching has changed the world. Yet his sayings can often seem cryptic and hard to understand. In Love Is His Meaning, Keith Ward explores the various figures of speech and images that Jesus used, and finds they are all ways of expressing and evoking the self-giving love of God, manifested supremely in Jesus’ life. They communicate spiritual truths, often not in a literal but in a poetic way. They encourage us to take our own moral decisions with sensitivity and care for others. They show that God’s love will never abandon anyone, and that it extends to everyone in the world without exception. And they promise a fulfilment of our hopes for a just and peaceable world that surpasses anything we might describe or imagine. Putting aside literalist, authoritarian, legalistic, judgemental and divisive presentations of Jesus’ teachings, the author shows that what remains is the gospel of a divine love – a love stronger than death, and the only power that can and will redeem our disordered world.

“For in Christ Jesus . . . the only thing that counts is faith working through love.” —Galatians 5:6, NRSV Faith Working Through Love invites us to revisit and reclaim essential Christian beliefs and practices as United Methodists. In an easy to follow question and answer format, the study recaps basic teachings and practices of Christian faith and underscores the core convictions of United Methodists. ~~~ Why Read This Book? People are struggling to cope with everyday life and our societies are divided and broken. Some wonder if lifting up the core doctrines of Christian faith divide us and cause further disagreements. But to the contrary, it is in times of uncertainty that we yearn to find our spiritual bearings by recalling our history and enduring teachings. This book helps us know who God is, what God is doing in the world, and how God includes us in making the world more loving and just. The Methodist tradition springs from forbears in the faith who prayed, learned, and served their neighbors together to increase their knowledge of God and actively shared God’s love in word and deed in all the places they lived, struggled, and loved. The teachings you’ll encounter in these pages are already making a difference in the lives of United Methodists around the world. We pray that through study and conversation with others, you too will encounter the Spirit of God who heals, strengthens, empowers, and transforms us. The questions and answers offered in this volume will challenge and embolden you as you grow in grace and love and to serve Christ. Faith Working Through Love bids you to take up the contents of this volume and read it, discuss it, and reflect upon it; and may God use it to bless you and to make you a blessing in the world. —David N. Field, Ecumenical Staff Officer for Faith and Order Faith Working Through Love has been crafted as a foundational United Methodist teaching resource by the Committee on Faith and Order of The United Methodist Church and received and commended to the church by the United Methodist Council of Bishops.

“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, hope, and love—we hear a lot about each on their own, but how are they related? Why is this triad mentioned so often in the New Testament? Written in the form of fifty-eight questions and answers, this book reveals how these three theological virtues—also referred to as “three divine sisters”—together serve as the foundation for our whole Christian life. Deeply scriptural, steeped in key theological texts, and modeled after the classic catechisms of church history, this book will instruct our minds, stir our hearts, and motivate us to faith-filled obedience.

The Commandments of Love is a book that teaches you how to live by the principles and precepts of God’s Agape love The words of this book came to me a vision, along with the complete knowledge of its contents in 1.2 seconds. The time it took God to put the knowledge of this book in my head was equal to one human pace; this event occurred as I passed through the door on my way in to work one day. Here is the question that I shall now put before you: What would you do if you were suddenly given a two thousand year old mystery? The answer . . . you announce it LOUDLY to the world. Countless pastors, teachers, and even students will pour over this book. I introduce insightful knowledge of the gospel in this book. Many portions of this book divulge the complete understanding of the parables of Christ. The Commandments of Love opens up the meaning of many of the sayings in the epistles of the apostles especially in the area of God’s love towards man. This book is packed with scripture, and it is presented in a skilled demonstration of the Holy Spirit. The Commandments of Love reminds its readers to be ever-mindful of the practical application of the gospel. The author has made use of over 500 scriptures in this book to convey the importance of God’s love. PROBLEM: The false prophets in the world have 98% of believers off course. God’s power is not embedded in faith alone; but in his love. Faith cannot work without LOVE. The reason Jesus Christ commanded us to love one another was because love, when coupled with a person’s FAITH, is the true healing power of God. The world and the church are one hundred miles off course from a one mile trip. Just as the Jews walked mindlessly through the desert for 40 years for an eight day trip, even so also is the church today mindlessly marching about. As a result of the knowledge of this, I knew that I had to write this book, so that men everywhere could learn of God’s true love for his man and find their way home to God. This word of the Lord came unto me with great unrest, compelling me to write this book to his specifications. The words found herein were derived from the message of love given to me by the Lord, who instructed me to write The Commandments of Love. The breadth thereof (He said) was to have twelve (12) parts, which represents the twelve tribes of the lost sheep of the house of Israel; the depth thereof (He said) was to have forty (40) chapters, which the Lord declared represented Israel’s forty years in the wilderness. The length thereof (He said) was to be four hundred and eighty (480) pages, signifying the four hundred and eighty years “. . . after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt . . .” until the building of the house of the Lord, written in I Kings 6:1. This, (He said) also represents the restoration of the children of God today, whose time is now. This word did the Lord give unto me by the mouth of his Holy Spirit, sent to signify his love for his people. This is why Jesus asked the question: ". . .when the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" St. Luke 18:8. This wasn't a question of FAITH, but of LOVE!
