Welcome to The Heartbeat of Pen and Paper 2019.The collected works in this anthology are written by high school students and faculty members from Summit Public Schools: Rainier and Piedmont Hills High School of the East Side Union High School District in San Jose, California. I am very proud of the work that has been put into every poem that has been submitted, and I congratulate every poet for their work and contribution to the making of this project. For this project, I have reached out to as many poets as I possibly could in the East Side Union High School District of San Jose, California, as well as other surrounding high schools in the area who might be interested in sharing their poetry for this cause. I originally came up with the idea of creating an anthology for my final English project of this year, but after seeing the enthusiasm of the poets that I have come into contact with, it is a goal of mine to continue this project in the years to come. I hope to be able to not only expand this project to include visual arts, but also continue this project to produce multiple volumes to be published annually.

This is another book of poetry and songs. Some were written years ago, on pieces of paper. Some in a tablet that was packed away. Many of the poems and songs were written at various hours of the day. A thought would come to mind, so, I had to make sure I paper and pen close by. I enjoy writing and I pray you are blessed as you read each one.

Tomás Bairéad is regarded as one of the finest short–story writers in Irish of the twentieth-century. His memoir recounts his youth on a small farm in an isolated region of the west of Ireland, one of the last “Gaeltachtaí” or Irish-speaking districts. An active member of the Irish Volunteers in his area and a talented writer of both Irish and English, Bairéad was part of the first-generation of Irish people who made their living as journalists in the newly-independent Irish Republic. His memories of working as a newspaper-man in the Irish capital, Dublin, make for fascinating reading, as do the coterie of Nationalist activists and intellectuals with whom he associated, including renowned writers such as Liam O’Flaherty, Máirtín Ó Cadhain and Pádraic Ó Conaire, to name but a few.

The Book Of Esther written by Angela G. Kruse and has been published by Author House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-05-11 with Fiction categories.

Through diaries and letters, Esther Kruse, a woman who settles into life on a small farm on the South Dakota prairie, provides insight into what it means to be a wife, mother, homemaker, and one-room school teacher during much of the 20th century on the isolated prairie of central South Dakota. Her life is explored in the narration of her granddaughter, who studies the diaries after their discovery in her grandmother’s attic. As the author pieces together her grandmother’s life from the previously unknown diaries, a story evolves, illustrating the value of family and small town community, through great events and small, and is an example of the human struggle to bring some small bit of civilization to a vast and wild landscape. The Book of Esther follows nearly 50 years in the life of Esther Kruse. It begins with her first diary written in her late 20s, as a single woman finding life on her own as a one-room school teacher in the Great Depression, and continues as she marries the captain of the local baseball team, raises two children, struggles with all the daily tasks of a farm, the wild South Dakota weather, illness, and finally, cancer. Through it all, she shines as an example of Midwestern strength and faith and the character that has shaped the heartland of America.

A guide to the open-heart wisdom and secret rites of passage of thirteen sacred temples in Egypt • Provides information on how to thrive as we move from the Piscean to the Aquarian age • Offers guided meditations and rituals that connect to the ancient power of the Flower of Life, the Djed Pillar, the Ka, the energy body, and more The Temples of Light guides the reader, as the initiate, on a spiritual journey through thirteen of Egypt’s sacred temples--a journey into the sanctuary of the open heart. Each sacred site is a portal to ancient wisdom that can assist the modern-day pilgrim with everyday life issues and struggles--love, purpose, money, and health--and the deeper questions of enlightenment and our divine origin. Danielle Rama Hoffman opens up sacred rites of passage that historically have been kept secret to forge a relationship with the temples of Egypt as allies and spirit guides. For example, the temple of Sakkara is associated with abundance; the temple of Abydos with remembering. The initiations in this book awaken intuition and the Sahu--the fully realized self--allowing connections to the power, magic, and wisdom of such sacred symbols as the Flower of Life, the Djed Pillar (the backbone of Osiris), the Ka, and the energy body. Hoffman’s guided meditations, rituals, and exercises also raise the reader’s vibration level, as we move from the Piscean to the Aquarian age. Embodying the wisdom of the open heart of these temples imparts a shift in consciousness from fear to bliss, from powerlessness to empowerment, opening the body, mind, and spirit to the infinite possibilities within.
