If you want to learn the job offer negotiation secrets that top executives know and use to power your own career and financial future forward, then this is the book for you. Robin Bond is an employment attorney who represents executives in negotiating employment and severance deals. She has seen what works in the real world - and what doesn't. Robin's new book, How to Negotiate a Killer Job Offer, is the timely response we've all been waiting for to the conversation around Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, the book by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook. Based upon the thousands of clients who have learned how to negotiate a job offer using her proactive negotiation process, Attorney Bond has distilled her negotiating secrets into a short, nuts-and-bolts, how-to employment guide that helps employees level the playing field in job offer negotiation. Robin helps answer the questions about how you get the pay you deserve, how you own the power you have and how you leverage it to get what you want in salary negotiations. Bond's strategies for negotiating success can be successfully applied to any situation. For example, readers can and will apply her WIIFM Factors ("what's in it for me") in any kind of interpersonal or commercial interaction. Everything in the book is based upon what has in fact worked in the real world. Robin has created sample negotiation scripts and letters to hiring managers that you won't find elsewhere. She shows you how to build rapport when you negotiate and showcase your executive potential. She has special materials dedicated to the unique and often secretive world of long-term incentives. These are designed to help you learn how to analyze a job offer, make an apples-to-apples comparison between offers, get more money in a deal, and even tackle the tough issues of securing stock options, long-term incentives and severance pay promises in your job offers. How to Negotiate a Killer Job Offer helps you powerfully prepare for job offer negotiations, access the job search strategy secrets used by senior-level executives in the real world, take action to maximize your chances for making the final terms of the job offer the best ones for you, and successfully implement the right negotiation tactics that increase your chances of completing the mission: career success. (Book Foreword by Mark Cuban, media entrepreneur, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Shark on ABC's "Shark Tank.")

On September 1, 1997, Ronald Lougheed’s body was discovered in a wooded area in Windsor, Ontario. He had been shot in the head with a single .22 caliber bullet. Initially, the police had few leads, but things started to come together when a local salvage yard operator informed them of a 1979 White Buick Riviera with traces of blood inside. The blood matched Lougheed’s. After arresting and interrogating the vehicle’s owner, Ken Legace, a member of Windsor’s West End Gang, police narrowed down their list of suspects to two: Wayne Joseph “Wahoo” Ross and William Murdoch Mackenzie, both members of the West End Gang. Now to prove their guilt. To do so, they needed someone who could infiltrate the West End Gang; someone whom the gang members would trust, who came from their home region of northern New Brunswick. Enter Josh Ouellette, a.k.a. Ti-Luc Landry: an undercover officer with the Bathurst Police Force. A veteran of many undercover operations throughout eastern Canada and a native of the same region as the crew of the alleged killer(s), Josh was the perfect man for the job. But catching Lougheed’s murderer would still be a difficult and perilous task every step of the way. Written from a vivid, first-person perspective, Josh details each stage of the operation, including the anguish and fear he experienced as he attempted to infiltrate the gang and bring Ronald Lougheed’s killer to justice. What emerges is a true crime story of the highest caliber that will keep you riveted right up to the last page.

Seminar paper from the year 2004 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 2 (B), Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Institute for Anglistics/American Studies), course: PS Madness & Literature, language: English, abstract: The relation between the hero, often a forensic profiler or behavioural psychologist, and the killer is one of the key elements in many thriller novels. The other parts of the story are put around these two interdependent characters. Even if they are completely unrelated in the beginning of the book, one can presume that in the developing story the killer will be a threat to the profiler himself/herself or a person near to him/her, which makes for the personal connection. In this paper, I will try to analyse the psychological effects of this special bonding, primarily focusing on the profiler. When looking at the killer, I will mainly describe the reaction to the interference of the profiler and partly, hence, the personal motive. The analysis is based on "The Body Farm" and "Point of Origin" by Patricia Cornwell, and "Killing the Shadows" by Val McDermid.
