INTRODUCTIONI'll keep it simple as not to waste your time. After going through a divorce as a Pro Se Litigant which simply means to represent oneself, I knew I was in for an experience that would be comical at best as my opponent was a legal veteran and probably had written the laws himself. Like you, I let my heart rule my head and approached my marriage with trust and unbridled abandon without consideration of the rules which protect one's assets in the event of a divorce. Now, looking into the eyes of the abyss and the pleasure of sparring in the legal boxing ring with an industry champion, I knew the only way to stand a chance was to learn the laws which dictated what rightfully and legally belonged to me…so I thought. For example; if you simply believe the property you have purchased long before your spouse was in your life is yours, you may be right. However, if poorly managed, that same property may become your goodbye gift for him to keep. That said, learning the money habits according to the legal guidelines will protect what you have worked so hard for all these years. These actions are nonnegotiable and are more effective than an attorney; simply put, separate property (your property or his property) is defined by how you managed it all these years. If done correctly with just one simple rule, no one can legally take it from you, not even the judge. This is your best chance at intelligently keeping your hard earned assets and it's much easier than you would believe.LEARN IT OR LOSE IT! THESE ARE YOUR OPTIONS.So when I say LEARN IT OR LOSE, it's because these are truly your options and don't believe for a second an attorney can change that because the law is the law only in writing. In family court, “9/10 of the law” doesn't apply. Your actions are your best weapon. Learn it because you have earned it and if not for yourself, do it for your children as their future depends on how well you manage your money and assets just the same. Therefore, going through my own divorce; I immersed myself in Texas Family Law to learn everything I possibly could in hopes to have some sort of educated approach. What I learned was astonishing and more importantly, here is what EVERYONE should understand more than the legal guidelines themselves..., If the average citizen in love knew what I now know, they would NEVER consider living together, let alone get married or divorced without knowing where you stand which is determined by how well you have managed your assets and not by what an attorney or the laws may express. I am fully confident most would approach their love lives differently having the same legal knowledge I now have. Keep what is yours. Simply learn the basics. This book is an introduction to the legal guidelines by which the courts use to measure your demise. Whether you are living together, getting married or considering a divorce, you must learn it especially before seeking legal advice.

Love And Law In Europe written by Hanne Petersen and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-08 with Law categories.

First published in 1998, this volume aims to draw attention to an ongoing shift in the perception of law, which is now increasingly understood as a cultural and historical phenomenon. As other such phenomena – like music, literature, or art – it is acknowledged that it is created in a specific environment, on which it is dependent for its functioning and interpretation. The historical aspects of love in a European and Nordic context are underlined, as well as the modern understanding of love and law as incompatible and contrasting concepts. Developments within the European Union and especially the relation of the EU to so called third country nationals and immigrants demonstrate that the problematic concerning law and love is not only one of legal philosophy but also of legal and everyday reality. The claim that love has been specifically ‘European’ is discarded as Eurocentrist, and the need for more particular emotions and a more pragmatic approach to romantic feelings, for a ‘reasonable love’ is discussed from legal, feminist and philosophical perspectives.

Looking For Love In The Legal Discourse Of Marriage written by Renata Grossi and has been published by ANU Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-01 with Law categories.

This book examines the (in)visibility of romantic love in the legal discourse surrounding modern Australian marriage. It looks at how romantic love has become a core part of modernity, and a dominant part of the Western marriage discourse, and considers how the ideologies of romantic love are (or are not) replicated in the legal meaning of marriage. This examination raises two key issues. If love has become central to people’s understanding of marriage, then it is important for the legitimacy of law that love is reflected in both the content and application of the law. More fundamentally, it requires us to reconsider how we understand law, and to ask whether it is engaged with emotions, or separate from them. Along the way this book also considers the meaning of love itself in contemporary society, and asks whether love is a radical force capable of breaking down conservative meanings embedded in institutions like marriage, or whether it simply mirrors them. This book will be of interest to everyone working on love, marriage and sexuality in the disciplines of law, sociology and philosophy.

Your guest at dinner kisses you. What does it mean? Where does it lead? Does kissing necessarily imply more, and if so how much? These and similar questions of amorous ethics and erotic disquisition are central to our everyday intimate public lives and they are the lost object of the law of love, the lex amatoria collated and presented here.

Law in the Courts of Love traces the literary history and diversity of past legal systems. These 'minor jurisprudences' range from the spiritual laws of the courts of conscience to the code and judgements of love handed down by women's courts in medieval France. Professor Goodrich presents the 15th Century Courts of Love in Paris as one instance of an alternative jurisdiction drawn from the diversities of the legal and literary past. Their textual records are correspondingly mixed in genre, being in the form of poems, narratives, plays, treaties and judicial decisions. More broadly, these studies trace certain boundaries of modern law and make up one of many forms of legal knowledge which escape today's vision of a unitary law. The author believes that the unquesionable faith in a unity law and its distance from person and emotion is precisely what makes impossible the attention to the individual that justice ultimately requires. Law in the Courts of Love shows how the historical diversity of forms and procedures of law can competently form the basis for critical revisions of contemporary legal doctrine and professional practice. This book will be of interest to undergraduate and postgraduate students of law and literature, critical legal studies and legal history, or anyone wishing to specialise in feminist legal theory.

'Bitingly funny, infectiously inquisitive and ferociously sharp. Adored!' ATTITUDE 'A fascinating interrogation' GRAZIA 'An incisive, witty and moving look at marriage - as an achievement, a compromise, a selling-out, a practical solution' REFINERY29 It was one thing to get married when your parents, your neighbours, your community insisted on it, when a sacred union for heterosexuals was not just one option but the only option. It's quite another to keep doing it in when free of that societal and religious pressure. What is the allure of an institution grounded in patriarchy, in elitism, in white supremacy in the West, an institution that invalidated all but one kind of love till quite recently? Why do so many of us fight against these social ills while also posting pictures of proposals on Instagram? Is it possible to be married while subverting the institution by doing it one's own way, or is marriage having the last laugh after all? Tom Rasmussen comes from a Northern, working class family, for whom marriage in the centrepiece of life. They are also a male-bodied, non-binary queer person in a relationship with a man. Journeying through wildly different weddings, visits to wedding planners, interviews with the much-married, those who have questioned their decision to marry, and those who would never consider matrimony, this is an incisive, witty and moving look at marriage - as an achievement, a compromise, a selling-out, a practical solution. Tom Rasmussen examines what marriage means across the spectrum of sexuality and class, and what the future looks like for this most historic and universal of institutions. 'An incisive, compassionate probing of the pleasures and pitfalls of marriage ... A deft deconstruction of normativity today' DAZED 'Tom Rasmussen is a smart and accomplished storyteller ... Anyone - queer or straight - who's considering marriage, or for that matter anyone who's deeply in love should read this unputdownable book' KATE BORNSTEIN 'I love Tom Rasmussen and adore their writing' TRAVIS ALABANZA 'An interrogation and an investigation ... A deeply funny and optimistic read' JUNO ROCHE
