Schubert Calculus And Its Applications In Combinatorics And Representation Theory written by Jianxun Hu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-10-24 with Mathematics categories.
This book gathers research papers and surveys on the latest advances in Schubert Calculus, presented at the International Festival in Schubert Calculus, held in Guangzhou, China on November 6–10, 2017. With roots in enumerative geometry and Hilbert's 15th problem, modern Schubert Calculus studies classical and quantum intersection rings on spaces with symmetries, such as flag manifolds. The presence of symmetries leads to particularly rich structures, and it connects Schubert Calculus to many branches of mathematics, including algebraic geometry, combinatorics, representation theory, and theoretical physics. For instance, the study of the quantum cohomology ring of a Grassmann manifold combines all these areas in an organic way. The book is useful for researchers and graduate students interested in Schubert Calculus, and more generally in the study of flag manifolds in relation to algebraic geometry, combinatorics, representation theory and mathematical physics.

Describes, explains, and explores the Index Theorem of Atiyah and Singer, one of the truly great accomplishments of twentieth-century mathematics whose influence continues to grow, fifty years after its discovery. David Bleecker and Bernhelm Boo-Bavnbek give two proofs of the Atiyah-Singer Index Theorem in impressive detail: one based on K-theory and the other on the heat kernel approach.

The Convenient Setting Of Global Analysis written by Andreas Kriegl and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Mathematics categories.
For graduate students and research mathematicians interested in global analysis and the analysis of manifolds, lays the foundations for a differential calculus in infinite dimensions and discusses applications in infinite-dimension differential geometry and global analysis not involving Sobolev completions and fixed-point theory. Shows how the notion of smoothness as mapping smooth curves to smooth curves coincides with all known reasonable concepts up to Frechet spaces. Then develops a calculus of holomorphic mappings, and another of real analytical mapping. Emphasizes regular infinite dimensional Lie groups. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

This textbook is a completely revised, updated, and expanded English edition of the important Analyse fonctionnelle (1983). In addition, it contains a wealth of problems and exercises (with solutions) to guide the reader. Uniquely, this book presents in a coherent, concise and unified way the main results from functional analysis together with the main results from the theory of partial differential equations (PDEs). Although there are many books on functional analysis and many on PDEs, this is the first to cover both of these closely connected topics. Since the French book was first published, it has been translated into Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Greek and Chinese. The English edition makes a welcome addition to this list.

Mostly Commutative Algebra written by Antoine Chambert-Loir and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-01 with Mathematics categories.
This book stems from lectures on commutative algebra for 4th-year university students at two French universities (Paris and Rennes). At that level, students have already followed a basic course in linear algebra and are essentially fluent with the language of vector spaces over fields. The topics introduced include arithmetic of rings, modules, especially principal ideal rings and the classification of modules over such rings, Galois theory, as well as an introduction to more advanced topics such as homological algebra, tensor products, and algebraic concepts involved in algebraic geometry. More than 300 exercises will allow the reader to deepen his understanding of the subject. The book also includes 11 historical vignettes about mathematicians who contributed to commutative algebra.

The Scottish Book written by R. Daniel Mauldin and has been published by Birkhäuser this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-11-26 with Mathematics categories.
The second edition of this book updates and expands upon a historically important collection of mathematical problems first published in the United States by Birkhäuser in 1981. These problems serve as a record of the informal discussions held by a group of mathematicians at the Scottish Café in Lwów, Poland, between the two world wars. Many of them were leaders in the development of such areas as functional and real analysis, group theory, measure and set theory, probability, and topology. Finding solutions to the problems they proposed has been ongoing since World War II, with prizes offered in many cases to those who are successful. In the 35 years since the first edition published, several more problems have been fully or partially solved, but even today many still remain unsolved and several prizes remain unclaimed. In view of this, the editor has gathered new and updated commentaries on the original 193 problems. Some problems are solved for the first time in this edition. Included again in full are transcripts of lectures given by Stanislaw Ulam, Mark Kac, Antoni Zygmund, Paul Erdös, and Andrzej Granas that provide amazing insights into the mathematical environment of Lwów before World War II and the development of The Scottish Book. Also new in this edition are a brief history of the University of Wrocław’s New Scottish Book, created to revive the tradition of the original, and some selected problems from it. The Scottish Book offers a unique opportunity to communicate with the people and ideas of a time and place that had an enormous influence on the development of mathematics and try their hand on the unsolved problems. Anyone in the general mathematical community with an interest in the history of modern mathematics will find this to be an insightful and fascinating read.

Motivic Aspects Of Hodge Theory written by Chris Peters and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with Geometry, Algebraic categories.
These notes are based on a series of lectures given at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, in 2007, on the theme of Hodge theoretic motives associated to various geometric objects. Starting with the topological setting, the notes go on to Hodge theory and mixed Hodge theory on the cohomology of varieties. Degenerations, limiting mixed Hodge structures and the relation to singularities are addressed next. The original proof of Bittner's theorem on the Grothendieck group of varieties, with some applications, is presented as an appendix to one of the chapters. The situation of relative varieties is addressed next using the machinery of mixed Hodge modules. Chern classes for singular varieties are explained in the motivic setting using Bittner's approach, and their full functorial meaning is made apparent using mixed Hodge modules. An appendix explains the treatment of Hodge characteristic in relation with motivic integration and string theory. Throughout these notes, emphasis is placed on explaining concepts and giving examples.
