I started this book prior to the election of 2016 and wrote most of it with a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach at the real possibility of Hillary Clinton becoming the president of the United States. I finished this book with the knowledge that the fight is far from over, and the election of President Donald Trump has afforded all God-loving conservatives more time to save our country and culture. And it is time we must not waste. The election of President Donald Trump is not going to stop the left. The election of President Donald Trump is not going to stop the establishment. And neither one is going to stop using the current liberal mainstream media and entertainment industry to mobilize the misinformed masses to undermine us. Therefore, we on the right must use this time we have been given to fill in the missing links in our arsenal that are preventing us from reaching the misguided masses and making conservatism and Judeo-Christian values the mainstream of America. This book tells what needs to be done and what each one of us can do to help. This is no time to rest on our laurels and hope everything works out okay. We must not forget that eight years after the election of Ronald Reagan, the political establishment retook power, and things went from bad to worse. So all you conservatives that want to do more than just call your government representative in Washington in an attempt to get your voice heard, read this book and get busy because we need you to help make the light of conservatism and Judeo-Christain values so bright the masses cant miss what we stand for even if they tried. It is time for us to shine in the mainstream of America and never again allow anyone to dim our light in the spirit of compromise and bipartisanship in order to be more in line with the popular thinking of the day.

“Judeo-Christian” is a remarkably easy term to look right through. Judaism and Christianity obviously share tenets, texts, and beliefs that have strongly influenced American democracy. In this ambitious book, however, K. Healan Gaston challenges the myth of a monolithic Judeo-Christian America. She demonstrates that the idea is not only a recent and deliberate construct, but also a potentially dangerous one. From the time of its widespread adoption in the 1930s, the ostensible inclusiveness of Judeo-Christian terminology concealed efforts to promote particular conceptions of religion, secularism, and politics. Gaston also shows that this new language, originally rooted in arguments over the nature of democracy that intensified in the early Cold War years, later became a marker in the culture wars that continue today. This collection provides vivid ethnographic explorations of particular, local Christianities as they are experienced by different groups around the world. At the same time, the contributors, all anthropologists, rethink the vexed relationship between anthropology and Christianity. As Fenella Cannell contends in her powerful introduction, Christianity is the critical “repressed” of anthropology. To a great extent, anthropology first defined itself as a rational, empirically based enterprise quite different from theology. The theology it repudiated was, for the most part, Christian. Cannell asserts that anthropological theory carries within it ideas profoundly shaped by this rejection. Because of this, anthropology has been less successful in considering Christianity as an ethnographic object than it has in considering other religions. This collection is designed to advance a more subtle and less self-limiting anthropological study of Christianity. The contributors examine the contours of Christianity among diverse groups: Catholics in India, the Philippines, and Bolivia, and Seventh-Day Adventists in Madagascar; the Swedish branch of Word of Life, a charismatic church based in the United States; and Protestants in Amazonia, Melanesia, and Indonesia. Highlighting the wide variation in what it means to be Christian, the contributors reveal vastly different understandings and valuations of conversion, orthodoxy, Scripture, the inspired word, ritual, gifts, and the concept of heaven. In the process they bring to light how local Christian practices and beliefs are affected by encounters with colonialism and modernity, by the opposition between Catholicism and Protestantism, and by the proximity of other religions and belief systems. Together the contributors show that it not sufficient for anthropologists to assume that they know in advance what the Christian experience is; each local variation must be encountered on its own terms.
