'"SCAM!" Lynsi was staring blankly at her best friend. Like a caged animal, Andrea Alexander paced the living area of Lynsi's small studio apartment waving and stabbing, for emphasis, at a piece of paper in her hand.' By 24 Lynsi Baudouin had been through more trauma than should befall someone of that age. Having to bury her father while going through the pains of a nasty divorce from a very abusive man. The consequences of which brought on even more doubt and pains and thus plummeting her already poor self esteem even further. Little did she know at the time, that little piece of paper Andrea was waving was about to change Lynsi's life. As a woman with a very interesting heritage, she suddenly meets it head on. That comes to call in the form of an inheritance that takes her nearly halfway around the world to Ireland and a world she knows nothing about. As she explores the possibilities she runs into trouble from some in the village as well as a few employees at the Estate in question. They claim that she can not inherit it because she is a woman not to mention her family name being French. She, with the help of her new friends, now has to prove to the village, the estate, and inwardly to herself, that she is worthy of and can live up to the name of O'Cullen.

The Oxford Dictionary of Family Names of Ireland contains more than 3,800 entries covering the majority of family names that are established and current in Ireland, both in the Republic and in Northern Ireland. It establishes reliable and accurate explanations of historical origins (including etymologies) and provides variant spellings for each name as well as its geographical distribution, and, where relevant, genealogical and bibliographical notes for family names that have more than 100 bearers in the 1911 census of Ireland. Of particular value are the lists of early bearers of family names, extracted from sources ranging from the medieval period to the nineteenth century, providing for the first time, the evidence on which many surname explanations are based, as well as interesting personal names, locations and often occupations of potential family forbears. This unique Dictionary will be of the greatest interest not only to those interested in Irish history, students of the Irish language, genealogists, and geneticists, but also to the general public, both in Ireland and in the Irish diaspora in North America, Australia, and elsewhere.

When Scotland Was Jewish written by Elizabeth Caldwell Hirschman and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-07 with History categories.

The popular image of Scotland is dominated by widely recognized elements of Celtic culture. But a significant non-Celtic influence on Scotland's history has been largely ignored for centuries? This book argues that much of Scotland's history and culture from 1100 forward is Jewish. The authors provide evidence that many of the national heroes, villains, rulers, nobles, traders, merchants, bishops, guild members, burgesses, and ministers of Scotland were of Jewish descent, their ancestors originating in France and Spain. Much of the traditional historical account of Scotland, it is proposed, rests on fundamental interpretive errors, perpetuated in order to affirm Scotland's identity as a Celtic, Christian society. A more accurate and profound understanding of Scottish history has thus been buried. The authors' wide-ranging research includes examination of census records, archaeological artifacts, castle carvings, cemetery inscriptions, religious seals, coinage, burgess and guild member rolls, noble genealogies, family crests, portraiture, and geographic place names.
