BibleStudyTools.com says that there are 5,467 Promises of God in the Bible. Most people, including Christians who read and know their bibles well, are even surprised at the amazingly large number. I know several of those promises by heart and others I can paraphrase. Some I have learned in the King James Version, and some in the NIV. It doesn't matter which version you choose, the most important thing is to hide those wonderful promises away in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is so good at bringing them back into our remembrance exactly when we need them! Like most of us, when I do a study of any of the books or verses of the Bible, I like to make application to my life today. So, this Journal is the opportunity for you and me to take a sixty-six week personal journey in believing and claiming the promises of God for ourselves and those we love. Why sixty-six weeks you ask...one week for each of the 66 books of the Bible of course! The Promises of God Prayer Journal is set up as a sixty-six week journal representing each book in the Old and New Testament in order as they appear in a standard Christian Bible. There are two facing pages for every week. Do one book of the bible each week, or go at your own pace. Each week you will see one scripture promise that I have chosen from the featured book of the bible. On that same page you will find a place for you to write in a promise from that same book of the bible that speaks to you. Also, on that page is a place to write any scripture promise from any book of the bible that God may be speaking to you about that week. On the facing page there is a place to journal about any challenges you may be facing that week and how you can apply the promises of God to that challenge. Below that, you will find a place to journal a prayer for yourself or loved ones for that week. And, at the very bottom of that page there is a place to follow-up with God's answer to that prayer. This is a great journal to use with your "Read the Bible in a Year" plan. As you read each book of the bible in your plan you can journal along in the corresponding section of this journal. As a bonus, six additional weeks were added to include (two each) additional promises from the books of Proverbs, Psalms and Revelation. No matter how you decide to use this journal, my prayer is that you receive all the promises of God that He has for you and you enjoy the journey!

Why simple technological solutions to complex social issues continue to appeal to politicians and professionals who should (and often do) know better. Why do we keep trying to solve poverty with technology? What makes us feel that we need to learn to code--or else? In The Promise of Access, Daniel Greene argues that the problem of poverty became a problem of technology in order to manage the contradictions of a changing economy. Greene shows how the digital divide emerged as a policy problem and why simple technological solutions to complex social issues continue to appeal to politicians and professionals who should (and often do) know better.

The Open Book written by M. Jensen and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-30 with Literary Criticism categories.

The Open Book is a provocative study of literary influence at work in English writing from Hardy to Woolf. Jensen reimagines the links between text and context as she endeavors to historicize literary influence, by taking Bloomian 'anxiety' and Kristevan 'intertextuality' into fields of actual history and biography. Jensen both borrows from and deconstructs the ideas of these theorists as she reads the texts of Hardy, Stephen, Woolf, Mansfield, and Middleton Murry. By doing so, The Open Book offers a fresh and pragmatic opening onto the relation between personal, cultural and institutional history on the one hand, and literary history on the other.

Looking at and listening to picture and story books is a ubiquitous activity, frequently enjoyed by many young children and their parents. Well before children can read for themselves they are able to learn from books. Looking at and listening to books increases children’s general knowledge, understanding about the world and promotes language acquisition. This collection of papers demonstrates the breadth of information pre-reading children learn from books and increases our understanding of the social and cognitive mechanisms that support this learning. Our hope is that this Research Topic/eBook will be useful for researchers as well as educational practitioners and parents who are interested in optimizing children’s learning.

Indigenous Languages and the Promise of Archives captures the energy and optimism that many feel about the future of community-based scholarship, which involves the collaboration of archives, scholars, and Native American communities. The American Philosophical Society is exploring new applications of materials in its library to partner on collaborative projects that assist the cultural and linguistic revitalization movements within Native communities. A paradigm shift is driving researchers to reckon with questionable practices used by scholars and libraries in the past to pursue documents relating to Native Americans, practices that are often embedded in the content of the collections themselves. The Center for Native American and Indigenous Research at the American Philosophical Society brought together this volume of historical and contemporary case studies highlighting the importance of archival materials for the revitalization of Indigenous languages. Essays written by archivists, historians, anthropologists, knowledge-keepers, and museum professionals, cover topics critical to language revitalization work; they tackle long-standing debates about ownership, access, and control of Indigenous materials stored in repositories; and they suggest strategies for how to decolonize collections in the service of community-based priorities. Together these essays reveal the power of collaboration for breathing new life into historical documents.
