Path of Life: The Way of Wisdom for Christ Followers looks at wisdom literature from the perspective of a pastor deeply concerned about the condition of contemporary society. Western culture in general and American culture in particular has unwisely cut itself off from its deepest spiritual, moral, and practical roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Overcoming the deep-seated incoherence of our society will involve a recovery of sources of moral and practical wisdom that lie at the very roots of human society. This book is an attempt to take a look at these roots in a way that is accessible not just to experts but also to laypersons who are willing to work a bit to understand the sources of our current condition and the way forward.

'This warm and wonderful book will be a tremendous help to very many' Christopher Ash, Writer-in-Residence, Tyndale House, Cambridge. What does it mean to walk in the way of Jesus? What if reading the same scriptures that he read, and praying the same prayers that he prayed, made following Jesus easier? The Psalms are intended for people who would follow Christ along his path of trust and obedience. Andrew Shead shows us that we can follow Christ through the book of Psalms, a journey through many hardships that ends in joy. He combines an appreciation for the overall story of the book of Psalms, the art of reading poetry well, and the discipline of biblical theology to invite you to follow Christ more faithfully.

The goodness of God is one of the most revolutionary truths of the Bible, but our generation has lost faith in the goodness of God. The image you carry in your heart of God and what He is like will dramatically affect your life, character, and destiny. Do you believe God can be your hero? Do you believe God has a good heart? Do you believe that God can transform you into the type of Christian that you always wanted to be? When we begin to understand and believe what it means when the Bible boldly declares that "God is good always," our lives will begin a breathtaking transformation, as we rise up to be a mighty witness for our Lord. Anyone who has been touched with the goodness of God cannot come away the same. The goodness of God encompasses everything that God is, and is a perfect representation of all His characteristics. The goodness of God is the foundation of all His works, plans, and purposes. If we are to understand what God is like, we must first know that He is good, and not evil. The devil works tirelessly to keep the truth of the goodness of God lost in the mindset of this world, and marshals all of his forces to cause confusion about the true character of our God. The goodness of God is the pinnacle point of the spiritual battle that rages all around us. Understanding the goodness of God is first and foremost in spiritual warfare, because without this, you can never stand for God faithfully

Thousands of years ago, in a time before the flood, a man walked among men and the heavens, a chosen being who would bear witness to a lost world. His name was Enoch, seventh in the lineage of Adam, and his story was not perpetuated by the pages of kings or by stone temples, but by visions and words that passed through the centuries in silence. Enoch was not just a man, but a seer, a man of deep listening, capable of capturing the murmurs of the sky and the echoes of the primordial chaos that threatened to consume the Earth. The Book of Enoch, or 1 Enoch, is one of the most enigmatic and significant texts in Jewish tradition. Although its exact origin is still a mystery, it is believed to have been composed between the 3rd century BC and the 1st century AD, and to have circulated widely among Second Temple Jewish groups, such as the Essenes, who lived at Qumran, near the Dead Sea. This text was not included in the Hebrew Bible, and is therefore considered apocryphal and often ignored or suppressed by religious scholars over the centuries. The Book of Enoch, in its most complete form, was preserved in Ge'ez, the liturgical language of Ethiopia, where it became part of the Canon of the Ethiopian Church. Its survival in Ethiopia reflects the spiritual importance that this manuscript had for certain Christian and Jewish traditions. However, most of Enoch's texts and fragments were lost to the Western world until the rediscovery of Ethiopian manuscripts in the 18th century. Later, Aramaic fragments were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, suggesting that the text had an even greater influence than previously imagined, especially among Jewish sects awaiting the Messiah and spiritual restoration.
