The Internet of Edges is a new paradigm whose objective is to keep data and processing close to the user. This book presents three different levels of Edge networking: MEC (Multi-access Edge Computing), Fog and Far Edge (sometimes called Mist or Skin). It also reviews participatory networks, in which user equipment provides the resources for the Edge network. Edge networks can be disconnected from the core Internet, and the interconnection of autonomous edge networks can then form the Internet of Edges. This book analyzes the characteristics of Edge networks in detail, showing their capacity to replace the imposing Clouds of core networks due to their superior server response time, data security and energy saving.

The Oxford Handbook Of Organizational Socialization written by Connie Wanberg and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-07-16 with Psychology categories.
Organizational socialization is the process by which a new employee learns to adapt to an organizational culture. This crucial early period has been shown to have an influence on eventual job satisfaction, commitment, innovation, and cooperation, and ultimately the performance of the organization. After decades of research on organizational socialization, much is now known about this important process. However, some confusion still exists regarding what it means to be socialized. The Oxford Handbook of Organizational Socialization brings comprehensive reviews of the scholarly literature together with perspectives on what is being done in organizations to integrate and support new employees. The first section introduces the principles and practice of employee socialization and provides a history of the field, and the second section focuses on outcomes and antecedents of socialization. The third section on organizational context, systems, and tactics covers an extensive number of topics, including diversity, person-organization fit, and social networks, and special contexts such as socialization into higher-level jobs, and expatriation. The fourth section reviews process, methods, and measurement. The fifth section goes "beyond the organizational newcomer" to examine socialization in special contexts. The sixth section expands on practice-related issues and walks the reader through two case studies, one in an academic setting and another in a corporate setting. The final chapters provide a "best practices" approach, based on the highest quality research, summarize the state of the field, and offer an agenda for future research as well as suggestions for potential research-practice partnerships. Unique and thorough in its approach, The Oxford Handbook of Organizational Socialization is a useful single source of information across the range of research relevant to organizational socialization.

AI and Blockchain in Smart Grids: Fundamentals, Methods, and Applications examines the cutting-edge solution that combines artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, and digital twin concepts to innovate the management and optimization of electrical power distribution. This innovative approach enhances the resilience, efficiency, and security of electricity grids while providing real-time insights for grid operators and stakeholders. The book covers such key elements as using: Digital twins in smart grids to gather real-time data from various grid components AI-powered analytics to process the data generated by digital twins and to analyze this information to detect patterns, predict grid failures, and recommend adjustments to enhance a grid's performance Blockchain-based security to ensure the secure and transparent management of data within a smart grid, especially a tamper-resistant ledger to store information related to energy production, distribution, and consumption Decentralized data sharing to allow grid data to be shared securely among various stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, and consumers Grid optimization techniques to improve electricity distribution, reduce energy waste, and balance supply and demand efficiently Select real-world case studies and practical examples demonstrate how AI and blockchain are currently being applied to enhance grid management, energy distribution, and sustainability. By explaining to researchers, academics, and students how AI and blockchain can revolutionize electricity distribution and make grids smarter, more secure, and environmentally friendly, the book points to a future where grid operators, regulators, and consumers will benefit from real-time data and a resilient, efficient energy ecosystem.
