THE ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED VERSION-UPDATED PLOT-NEW ENDING A MUST READ! - Kirkus Indie Review, December 19, 2017 The French flag signals the start of the 24-hour adrenaline rush of Le Mans, the most famous auto race in the world, which provides the backdrop of a terror plot by Muslim jihadists to assassinate the leaders of the free world. Tygre, the beautiful heroine of The Racing Heart, becomes an unwilling pawn caught between the international forces of money, power, sex, and fanaticism. The story follows Tygre's transformation from her childhood in Poland to her coming of age through her experiences as a top supermodel, which affords her entrée into rarefied levels of high society, wealth, and power. The Racing Heart, a romantic thriller, is a gripping roller-coaster of emotions, events, and determination to overcome impossible odds. Will Tygre survive an international terror plot? Does she have what it takes to abandon her comfort level and reveal her true character? Will she find true love she has been searching for all her life? In the whirlwind of intrigue, Tygre is forced to adjust her skewed sense of values, display intelligence and gather the courage to emerge transformed and victorious. The Racing Heart has the emotion of Love Story and the thrill of Le Mans wrapped with insider perception into global terror. The novel is peppered with rich, powerful, abusive men who helped determine the course of Tygre's rise to fame, leading up to the über-villains, epitomized by the pill-popping Khalil Karim and his pathologically malevolent assistant and lover, Malik Youssaf. Flashbacks reveal the personal journey of a romantic, high-spirited teenage girl from Poland. The narrative progresses quickly, comfortably vacillating between present and past. The behind-the-scenes details and dangers of Le Mans racing ring true and function well as a compelling foil for the simultaneous life and death drama being taking place off the racecourse.www.theracingheart.com VARIOUS TESTIMONIALS ABOUT THE RACING HEART"The Racing Heart's alright!"-Tom Clancy, author of The Hunt of Red October, Dead or Alive, Without Remorse and many other titles."A page turning exploration of the curse and ecstasy of female beauty and sensuality against the backdrop of a terror plot during the 25 Hours of Le Mans, the most prestigious auto race in the world." -Warren Adler, author of The War of the Roses and Randon Hearts."So glad to hear The Racing Heart's success. Fear written by Jan Plamper and has been published by University of Pittsburgh Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-30 with History categories.

This volume provides a cross-disciplinary examination of fear, that most unruly of our emotions, by offering a broad survey of the psychological, biological, and philosophical basis of fear in historical and contemporary contexts. The contributors, leading figures in clinical psychology, neuroscience, the social sciences, and the humanities, consider categories of intentionality, temporality, admixture, spectacle, and politics in evaluating conceptions of fear. Individual chapters treat manifestations of fear in the mass panic of the stock market crash of 1929, as spectacle in warfare and in horror films, and as a political tool to justify security measures in the wake of terrorist acts. They also describe the biological and evolutionary roots of fear, fear as innate versus learned behavior in both humans and animals, and conceptions of human "passions" and their self-mastery from late antiquity to the early modern era. Additionally, the contributors examine theories of intentional and non-intentional reactivity, the process of fear-memory coding, and contemporary psychology's emphasis on anxiety disorders. Overall, the authors point to fear as a dense and variable web of responses to external and internal stimuli. Our thinking about these reactions is just as complex. In response, this volume opens a dialogue between science and the humanities to afford a more complete view of an emotion that has shaped human behavior since time immemorial.

Offering specific, intimate examples of the choices people make to deny their vulnerability, they show you how to practice the awareness of vulnerability and how to turn toward it with courage and serenity. The End of Fear helps you to accept your vulnerability and to allow it to be your realistic spiritual path of connection to every other living being.

Zen Heart written by Ezra Bayda and has been published by Shambhala Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Spiritual life categories.

There's a secret to spiritual practice, and it's surprisingly simple: learn to be present with attention. Do that, and the whole world becomes your teacher, you wake up to the sacredness of every aspect of existence, and compassion for others arises without even thinking about it. It's indeed just that simple, says Zen teacher Ezra Bayda, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy--especially when being present brings us up against the painful parts of life. Bayda provides a wealth of practical advice for making difficult experiences a valued part of the path and for making mindulness a daily habit. He breaks practice down into three phases: * The Me Phase, in which we uncover our most basic and tightly-clung-to beliefs about ourselves, observe our emotions, and become intimate with our fears * Being Awareness, in which we cultivate a larger sense of what life is, transforming our limited experience into a more spacious sense of being * Being Kindness, in which we learn to connect with the love that is our true nature, and learn to live from that place of kindness and compassion
