"In an obscure time, in a past clear and clouded at the same time, a small group of friends formed in a spontaneous manner, bent on a simple premise; to explore the world out there, in rocks and trees and hills, and in here, in the complex and felt world of the magical psyche. They christened themselves 'The Rainbow Brothers' to honor those virtuous qualities of the spirit that make up all of us and which are available to our edification and use once we recognize that these qualities exist. They called their exploration an 'Adventure-Never' to honor the adventure and recognize that it would never end." Twin sons and father set off on an innocent exploration and begin a series of adventures that come out of the deep joy in spending time together. All of the adventures that follow occurred in that spontaneous manner that can flow at opportune moments. Some additional details and stories arrived at the time of writing these adventures out. The sole intention is to convey the love and pass it along. Reading level may vary between 3 and 12 and higher as some material may require more advanced capability. This is also intended to be read by older siblings and parents to younger children. Much gratitude must be given to mother Shakira Khan and stepmother Laurene Hensle for all of the love and life they bestow on all of us.

D. H. Lawrence started 'The Sisters' in March 1913, wrote four different versions and claimed to have discarded 'quite a thousand pages' before completing The Rainbow in May 1915. The novel was suppressed, just over a month after publication, in November 1915. Mark Kinkead-Weekes gives the composition history and collates the surviving states of the text to assess the damage done to Lawrence's great novel, and to provide a text as close to that which the author wrote as is now possible. The final manuscript, revisions in the typescript and the first edition are recorded in the full textual apparatus so the reader can follow the development of the novel and evaluate what outside interference might have done to it. Appendixes give the earliest, unpublished fragments from the first two versions and a newly discovered report and summary of the third. Published in two volumes.

To be oneself was a supreme, gleaming triumph of infinity This is the insight that flashes upon Ursula as she struggles to assert her individuality and to stand separate from her family and her surroundings on the brink of womanhood and the modern world. In The Rainbow (1915) Lawrence challenged the customary limitations of language and convention to carry into the structure of his prose the fascination with boundaries and space that characterize the entire novel. Condemned and suppressed on its first publication for its open treatment of sexuality and its `unpatriotic' spirit, the novel chronicles the lives of three generations of the Brangwen family over a period of more than 60 years, setting them against the emergence of modern England. The central figure of ursula becomes the focus of Lawrence's examination of relationships and the conflicts they bring, and the inextricable mingling of the physical and the spiritual. Suffused with biblical imagery, The Rainbow addresses searching human issues in a setting of precise and vivid detail. In her introduction to this edition Kate Flint illuminates Lawrence's aims and achievements against the background of the burgeoning century. ABOUT THE SERIES: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the widest range of literature from around the globe. Each affordable volume reflects Oxford's commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, helpful notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, and much more.

Living In The Borderland written by Jerome S. Bernstein and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-02-01 with Psychology categories.

Living in the Borderland addresses the evolution of Western consciousness and describes the emergence of the ‘Borderland,' a spectrum of reality that is beyond the rational yet is palpable to an increasing number of individuals. Building on Jungian theory, Jerome Bernstein argues that a greater openness to transrational reality experienced by Borderland personalities allows new possibilities for understanding and healing confounding clinical and developmental enigmas. There are many people whose experiences of reality is outside the mainstream of Western culture; often they see themselves as abnormal because they have no articulated frame of reference for their experience. The concept of the Borderland personality explains much of their experience. In three sections, this book examines the psychological and clinical implications of the evolution of consciousness and looks at how the new Borderland consciousness bridges the mind-body divide. Subjects covered include: · Genesis: Evolution of the Western Ego · Transrational Data in a Western Clinical Context: Synchronicity · Trauma and Borderland Transcendence · Environmental Illness Complex · Integration of Navajo and Western healing approaches for Borderland Personalities. Living in the Borderland challenges the standard clinical model, which views normality as an absence of pathology and which equates normality with the rational. Jerome S. Bernstein describes how psychotherapy itself often contributes to the alienation of Borderland personalities by misperceiving the difference between the pathological and the sacred. The case studies included illustrate the potential this has for causing serious psychic and emotional damage to the patient. This challenge to the orthodoxies and complacencies of Western medicine’s concept of pathology will interest Jungian Analysts, Psychotherapists, Psychiatrists and other physicians, as well as educators of children. Jerome S. Bernstein is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico
