The ultimate guide to maximizing the body's ability to heal for anyone who is planning for or recovering from surgery, injury or pregnancy. By understanding the body's marvelous ability to repair and rebuild itself, we can prepare and fine–tune our bodies to optimize our healing potential post surgery. THE RAPID RECOVERY HANDBOOK will provide an understanding of the healing process and the essential tools to make sure self–healing mechanisms are in top working order, covering every repair–related detail a patient needs to know from the planning–for–surgery period through the late stages of recovery at home. Written for a variety of patients dealing with a wide scope of surgeries and injuries, THE RAPID RECOVERY HANDBOOK reveals three practical factors that account for the individualized nature of recovery: nutrition and botanical support (the primary way to prepare for surgery and to enhance healing from injury), physical support (including such beneficial therapies as massage, acupuncture, Reiki, hydrotherapy and others) and mind–body support (including hypnosis and mindful breathing to address the stress response). Complete with a foreword by Dr. Mehmet Oz, the book also has several appendices for lay and science–savvy readers alike.

The Rapid Recovery Resource written by Adrian Abascal and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-06 with categories.

The Rapid Recovery Resource began as a simple document to easily explain to patients how to best recover after injury and workouts. Since then it has morphed into a comprehensive yet quick reference for athletes, coaches, and hobbyists who get hurt or get sore. With so much conflicting information available on the internet it is hard to make sense of it all, this book seeks to simplify that. The information in this book, modeled from top performers, makes it especially appropriate for the professional level athletes who are STILL recovering inefficiently, due to certain myths that are busted in this book. This book is not about how to have less pain with recovery, or how to have it "easy". Anyone who claims anything worthwhile in life is "easy" is just trying to sell you something. This book is about overcoming pain without drugs and recovering FAST with some intelligence and at least a little bit of hard work.I am glad to finally share this in a more official capacity as a book. However due to the rapidly changing paradigms of science, there will be changes in this book. This edition, is the first edition! Thank you for considering it and it is my wish that it be shared with your students, team mates, or children. The information in this book builds onto itself making references to prior chapters or sections therefore it's best to be first read cover-to-cover. With this edition, reading cover-to-cover is not so bad; it's not an exceptionally long book. Once read through the book can be used for quick reference.Part 1 of the book will be about the types of injuries that happen from training and then the different phases of recovery. The medical convention has three levels of recovery but I use four. This reason will become evident in later chapters. Because of this, this part of the book shouldn't be skipped. Part 2 of the book covers what not-to-do. All the myths and bad advice is covered in Part 2. Over the years so much conflicting information about fitness has made it almost impossible to make sense of anything.Part 3 of the book covers what to-do. It is the "tool kit" section. It will just cover the basics. If this book got any longer my editor would kill me. A separate book will be written in the future about every recovery tool in existence!Near the end, I will present you with a story analogy of the recovery process from my experiences with Hurricane Harvey recently here in Texas. It will illustrate how we have been approaching recovery completely from the wrong direction and how by focusing on what works, recovery can happen rapidly. The final chapter of this book outlines the Rapid Recovery Technique it is an overview of everything discussed and how to fully maximize your body's recovery ability with simple steps. Oddly - this is the shortest chapter. However, because each chapter builds upon the next this section will not make much sense without a foundation of all the other information. To fully appreciate the Rapid Recovery Technique, it is important to understand that it is your body conducting 100% of the recovery. There is no intervention outside of your body that can do this job for you. Everything you do to recover is done in the spirit of supporting your body while it does this work and giving it the tools and materials it needs to do its work.

It only took eight years in the making, but I have finally completed my book on a variety of rapid recovery and healing techniques that I use in my counselling practice and with athletes. Many workshop attendees had asked that I put these techniques in an easy-to-follow format, with an explanation as to why certain things work the way they do. I believe I have now achieved that goal. These methods are helpful for maximising mind/body maintenance by clearing fears, phobias, addictions, obsessions, compulsions, traumas and all forms of self-sabotage. They can help optimize all aspects of our lives and open us to the fullness of life's possibilities.

The idea of recovery is that people learn to live with the past and with their imperfections, and find positive steps forward that work for them. Whole Person Recovery (WPR) aims to co-design treatment with the addict, build ‘recovery capital’, and maximise chances of success by supporting the addict to take control of their recovery. This joint process has been shown to be more effective than traditional approaches to treatment – and is fast influencing and overtaking such approaches. At the heart of the process is self-acceptance, safe space, trust, learning, human warmth and kindness.
