The vocabulary includes that of the Primer and the most important ideas concerning playing, going to school, eating, sleeping, visiting, day and night, buying and selling, in the market, at home, at school, etc. This use of familiar and interesting ideas not only makes the teaching and learning of the English language far easier, but also encourages its use independently by the pupil. Speaking and writing form parts of each lesson. The forms of the lessons distinctly encourage the speaking of English. New words are learned in connection with the thoughts which they must be used to express. This is very important. Further, the use of new words in writing is strongly emphasized.
