Walking the Ephesian Road brings you face to face with the heart of God. Thrill with Charlie, a 21st century believer, on his first visit to Ephesus as he is stirred by the echoed greatness of the city. Have your heart touched as Charlie's heart is with the love of Jesus. The opening chapters carry you along in the great sweep of the Ephesian story as the good news of Jesus arrives amid strong opposition in one of the first century's most magnificent cities. As your imagination is stirred by the drama that unfolds, in the later chapters you will be given a view into the truths that impassioned the heart of Paul and how he might have delivered them in Ephesus. Ultimately, the author uses the Scriptures as presented in Acts 18 and 19 along with the letter written to the Ephesians in 62 A.D. to shine light on who Jesus is. As you read, you will be drawn into the story of what happened and encouraged by the wonder of what God has done for us in Christ. These ancient truths will bring revelation, encouragement and life to readers at all levels of their Christian experience.

He combs the works of twenty-six ancient authors for information about ancient Ephesus, from its beginnings to the end of the biblical era. Readers can now picture for themselves this second of the two major centers of Paul's missionary work, with its houses, shops, and monuments, and above al the world-renowned temple of Artemis. After presenting the textual and archaeological evidence, Murphy-O'Connor leads the reader on a walk through St. Paul's Ephesus and describes the history of Paul's years in the city. Although Ephesus has been a ruin for many hundreds of years, readers of this book will find themselves transported back to the days of its flourishing.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, There comes a time in your Christian walk where the rubber will meet the road. In other words, the confession your faith has to meet the road of life. God's love is to be experienced in order to gain a deeper and fuller revelation of His love in Christ to the church. Not just by a confession of faith but a life of faithfulness. Only through experiencing the endless love of Christ in the everyday trials of life, can the fullness of His love come into view. We are to have an experiential knowledge of Christ and His love working in our lives. Therefore, Paul sums up Chapter 3 of Ephesians with these words: "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:1-3 K.J.V.

Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11 Dont be fooled! Christians are in a spiritual battle. The world may ridicule the notion of a spiritual realm, but Christians know that it is both real and potent. As the last days draw ever closer, we need a deeper understanding of this to help us prepare for the great battles that lie ahead for believers. In the Bible, the book of Ephesians gives the clearest definition of the spiritual war we face; author Rich Robletto has written The Knights of Ephesus to offer readers fresh perspective and profound insight on how we are to put on the whole armour of God as he describes the nature of our struggle. Backed extensively by appropriate, relevant passages from the Bible, Robletto reminds Christians that Satan is real. He cautions that unless we fully grasp what our role is, along with the fact that Jesus Christ has given us all we need to withstand and ultimately triumph over evil, we will be woefully underprepared and overwhelmed by Satans wiles. The Knights of Ephesus effectively highlights the great insight provided by the book of Ephesians and offers instruction on how to prepare for war and how we are to achieve victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Beast of Ephesus is a gamut of the spiritual and physical challenges Reverend N.C. Thompson had to face in the course of carrying out his ministry. It is an evocation of the grace of God to preach the gospel during hard times, through rough terrains, and among people of diverse cultural leanings. When Reverend Thompson was called on the 26th of July 1971 as a minister of the gospel, he delved into it immediately. His gusto was met with the joys of evangelizing and discipling new believers, and the daunting angst of fellow church workers and denominations. Although the road had been awash with difficulty, Reverend Thompson endured the grind and enjoyed the grace of God, which has kept him at the Master's business for 50 years and counting. The Beast of Ephesus is a beautifully knit narrative. It is an encouragement to the ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ to draw inner strength from the Holy Spirit while they fulfill the divine call upon their lives in the face of challenges.

Gospel On The Road To Emmaus written by Edward Joseph Clemmer and has been published by Author House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-03-17 with Religion categories.

Born in Indiana, Dr. Edward J. Clemmer is a social psychologist by profession. He now lives with his Maltese wife, Jane Zammit, and enjoys dual citizenship with Malta. His four sons by a previous marriage continue to live in America. His personal journey with the Lord into this Gospel (on the Road to) Emmaus began in a moment of grace on 12th September 2003, as Ed was on his way to the priest. The context for this initiation was the Feast of Exultation of Holy Cross (14th September), as the source of every grace is derived from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The gospel is explained for us as the author and reader journey with the Lord as potential disciples. Our journey begins at Bethany near the Jordan with John the Baptist preaching and baptizing. Part 1 continues up to the Transfiguration of Jesus. Volume One reaches its climax before the Lords final journey to Jerusalem, when Jesus returns to Bethany where the Baptist had preached. Volume Two resumes with the Lords healing and preaching at Bethany near the Jordan. Part 2 concludes in Bethany near Jerusalem with the Lords dinner celebration with Lazarus, after Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead. This celebration anticipates the Lords death and resurrection, and ours in Christ. Part 3 takes up the Grand Liturgy of the Lords New Creation, with Holy Week. The book initially concludes with a retrospective of the incarnation, of Jesus as God-with-us, and with the parallel coming of the Spirit at Pentecost. Then, in the Part 4 conclusion of this gospel, our post-Emmaus journey with the risen Lord returns to our post-Pentecost life in the Holy Spirit. The authors seven-year personal journey through this Gospel Emmaus ends in 2010 with the Feast of Sukkot, just as when the Lord also had anticipated the Holy Spirit. But the Lord provides us with his own conclusion: although he had healed ten lepers as they were on their way to the priest, only one had returned to give thanks.

As I begin this inspired journey of this new book titled "Where Do I Go From here" I am greatful to God for his divine inspiration and guidance. This book is long overdue and will be a blessing to many that are "stagnant on the Road to Emmaus, both psychologically and spiritually! As I am a living witness of how sad and lonely this road is; and how vital it is for one to quickly get off this road, and get back on the road to life. If you have experienced the death of someone special in your life as the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus had; after the death of Jesus Christ, you have traveled or are traveling down the road to Emmaus. The journey down Emmaus Road begain at the death of that special someone that was in your life but have suddenly died naturally or due to some sickness or some other cause; known as the "immediate cause" of death. Let me inject here however, that "death" isn't the only cause for one to be stagnant on the road to Emmaus! It might be from the result of a "broken marriage", "drug or alcohol abuse", "loss of a job", and the list could continue on and on! The point is; whatever is causing sadness in your life have both "psychologically and spiritually" led you to this road of sadness and lonliness, even if you do not realize it! However, this books primary focus is on one of the causes, which is "DEATH"! Most people in the world know and have heard of the man Jesus Christ! If you have not, I am more than happy to introduce you to him in this book! Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah! Salvation to all men or nations of men came through him; as the Savior of the world (John-3:16,17). Jesus Christ was a Jew and this is why the Bible declare to us that "Salvation is of the Jews" (Romans-11:11). God sent Jesus Christ into this world to die for the sins of the world that the world through his death, might be saved! Jesus was born into this world and lived as a human, yet without sin; was accused of blasphemy by the chief priest and men of high honor in his day, convicted by a court of law and sentenced to "death" by "crucifiction" by his own people! I will now take you on a journey back to the events that led to his death on the cross at Calvary; and how his death tie in to the "Road to Emmaus"! Jesus begin his ministry at the age of thirty! He chose twelve men that are called disciples; whom he taught, lived with and instructed about the "kingdom of God!" At the age of thirty-three and a half (33 1/2) Jesus was crucified on a cruel cross at Calvary as he gave his life a ransom for many including you and me! When Jesus was crucified all of his disciple's hope was gone as well as their faith, as they did not understand, the providence of God; his purpose, until after his death, burial and resurrection from the dead! The Jewish looked for someone to overthrow the Roman government of their day; a coming king! Yet when Jesus came, they neither knew him nor understood his divine purpose in the world. Immediately before his death, all of his disciples left him and fled and was scattered! After his crucifiction, two of his disciples left Jerusalem and traveled to a village which was outside of Jerusalem; called Emmaus! They had to travel down a road which is called "the road to Emmaus" the story of their sad journey is found in the book of Luke the twenty-fourth Chapter and is summed up in this: Luke places the story on of the day of Jesus' resurrection. The two disciples have heard the tomb of Jesus was found empty earlier that day. They are discussing the events of the past few days when a stranger asks them what they are discussing. "Their eyes were kept from recognizing him". He rebukes them for their unbelief and expounds on the scriptures about the Messiah. After a meal and breaking of bread their eyes were opened and they knew him. They returned to Jerusalem and to tell the others; Jesus was alive and how they knew him by the breaking of bread! This book will inspire you to see death and all God's way!
